When the TAX RATES were HIGH, POVERTY WAS AT ONE OF THE HIGHEST LEVELS IN THIS NATION TOO!! And your boy LBJ decided that the answer was MORE WELFARE instead of showing people HOW TO ACHIEVE!!

Sucks you know very little about what LOW TAX RATES do in lifting up ALL people from where they were at.

It is far better showing the yield on taxation vs what individuals can earn in a savings account to show how unbalanced society operates governing time people have mutually evolving at the sam time.

Expose the trickle down scenario of supply and demand human rights to pretend now isn't eternity in any nation under God. the need to know education system training every added generation gap to repeat traditional values set in law since dawn of civilization taming the human predator from within its own species.

Reasonable doubt doesn't do favors without a cost to one's sole time self evidently evolving here now.

Wrong. No they don't. As a percentage of their earning, real income or capital gains, the top 1% don't pay anything near "plenty."

Wrong. We do have a tax problem. Taxes are too low for anybody with an income of over 250,000/year. Certainly for anybody with an income of over $400,000/year. Taxes are too high for the poor.
Z09 » 03 Mar 2023, 2:52 pm » wrote: We have a spending problem
Correct. Spending should go for a social safety net, for healthcare, for education, and for infrastructure. Tax dollars go for the wrong things. Example...we have 11 active carrier strike groups. We have two coasts. I'll be generous and say we need three active carrier strike groups, one for each coast and one for emergencies, like one of the other two breaks down. Still more than any other country, more than any other two countries.

The POOR pays ZERO INCOME TAXES. So in your little peabrain, zero is too high. Do you ever get tired or tripping over your own pecker??

Change the tax code..
Biden had BOTH houses of Congress

Why didn't he?
He didn't because it happens to be that all these RICH LIBRETARDS have their fist wrapped around the Democrats balls. The Dems have become the "Party of the rich and elite", and are NO LONGER the party of the working American.

Democrats LOVE talking **** about "taxes too low" until it comes time to collect their campaign dollars from these RICH ELITISTS who keep their coffers filled. There is ZERO chance of them doing ANYTHING except write more loopholes for their donors. Oh, and blaming Republicans for not raising taxes.

I tried googling how many poor people all have smartphones, smoking and imbibing..., but got no hits. One partial said 85% of all Americans have a cell phone, though. It didn't say if that included children.

Another article did point out that people with phones, smokes, and booze do pay taxes.

I don't want to pick, but I think your statement is temious.

What if we admit we already tax the rich? That the top 10% of wage earners pay more in taxes than the bottom 90%? What if we admit we have a spending problem that is driving wars, drug addiction, dependence and suffering? A government no longer of the people but of special monied interests that do little to address the pains of the common citizens?

Said: "You must pay taxes until it hurts"
Said: "Let's get the government off the backs of the people"; then gave the IRS 12 new expanded powers to tax people!

Let's start with elimination of ALL LEFT WING SOCIALISTS which is who and what YOU are!!

That would solve 90% of the problems in this nation. Eliminate the NO MORALS, NO VALUES, and COMMUNIST SUPPORTING ARSEHOLES and you got a nation where people DO care about each other, rather than your DEMAND for government to do what a MORAL and CARING American DOES DO without government.

As I have made clear here before I am a successful capitalist entrepreneur. As a person with some compassion for other people I also believe in a strong social safety net.
You try to label me a communist because that makes it easy for you to disregard what I have to say which is that your position is completely immoral and without merit.
There are real problems faced by the poor and the middle class and you do not address them at all.
Biden is actually doing a good job of trying to.
Go be a moral bankrupt somewhere else

There's a few problems with "taxing the rich". First of the problems is that the rich own capital. They don't earn taxable income in their business holdings, usually in the form of corporate shares. You can tax the dividends that corporations pay out and usually that is common practice. You can also tax something called "capital gains" which are the profit a wealthy individual or anyone sells shares for a gain. Nevertheless, the wealth of someone like Elon Musk is an estimate given how much he owns in Space X, Tesla, ect is commonly not easily able to tax.
The rich hold wealth, they don't earn a salary. I'll try to be brief with this but there is also a problem internationally with tax havens that play to the lowest bidder for corporations. Therefore, while you can't tax the rich individually, taxing the corporations is possible but corporations can choose where to base operations internationally.
Finally, I think that there is a common tendency among the left to try to tax as much as possible as if it will make a better society. Sometimes the funding of the government is adequate and therefore high taxes aren't need. Eisenhower had a massive war debt to consider when he massively raised taxes. Today the main issue is funding Social Security benefits but that can be adequate at some point IMHO.
Nothing is easier than defending the status quo.
