The last is a fantasy. The rest of it we agree on. Where is your authoritarianism now? Seems like your fears would fizzle out with the reality.Neo » 05 Mar 2023, 12:21 pm » wrote: ↑ Healthcare, addiction, untreated mental illness, hopelessness, endless wars, politicization of a biological weapon and use of the resulting fears to condition acceptance of authoritarianism.
Same old rusty canned Robin Hood fantasy suggesting if some folks were made to have less in their pockets, that you would somehow have more in yours... The reality is you can tax these rich folks that Robert the Dwarf Reich in this Vid speaks of into oblivion, and that won't equate to a single $Dollar in cash or services that YOU THINK you're ENTITLED to come your way... It will however might pay for more Arms & Munitions to send to Zelinsky..nuckinfutz » 03 Mar 2023, 2:47 pm » wrote: ↑ None of you peasants are super rich, so you should be all for this!

The notion the rich will ever pay "their 'fair' share" presupposes there is some 'fair' in March. The fair is in October.SJConspirator » 03 Mar 2023, 3:10 pm » wrote: ↑ The peasants pay taxes to the nobility.
Serfs pay taxes to the landowners. It has never been the other way around, never will.
The productive workers are taxed by the pampered, idle rich, to support their luxury lifestyles

I am a 'problem-solver'.
Let's write a new tax code.
I will help you.

You contravene your own statement. Obviously Reich is advocating raising taxes on himself.Kobia2 » 05 Mar 2023, 12:28 pm » wrote: ↑ Same old rusty canned Robin Hood fantasy suggesting if some folks were made to have less in their pockets, that you would somehow have more in yours... And by the way, don't you find it odd that Mr. Reich didn't volunteer to lead by example and pay more of his own "Fair Share" as a matter of principle?... He's a Multi $Millionaire himself...
Anyone believing that 50% of the country shouldn't pay any tax because they're "poor" should spend an hour in a supermarket at the beginning of the month when the EBT/Food Stamps are received. I guarantee you will watch "poor" shoppers with their carts overflowing with choice cuts of meat, lobster, shrimp, and the most expensive items found in a supermarket, all while carrying $800 smart phones, wearing $200 sneakers, designer jeans, leather coats and dripping with jewelry. Watch as they load their groceries into late model cars that are probably newer than your own. You'll see them smoking cigarettes at $10 a pack, and spending their cash on booze and beer, and in line ahead of you at the marijuana dispensary.RebelGator » 05 Mar 2023, 11:55 am » wrote: ↑ The problem with parasites like you is the fact you think a host can keep feeding you, no matter how many leeches try to suck his blood.
Maybe the answer is for irresponsible, childish politicians to Spend Less instead of Taxing the citizens & businesses more...slideman » 05 Mar 2023, 12:35 pm » wrote: ↑ You contravene your own statement. Obviously Reich is advocating raising taxes on himself.
If we raise taxes on the rich maybe we could retire some of this outlandish debt.
Maybe we could subsidize higher education for our students.
None of us think higher taxes on the rich are going to put money directly in our pockets that is specious.
Maybe we could expand Medicaid further and increase the subsidies under the affordable Care act.
Maybe we could reestablish some sort of mental health system.
There are lots of things that could be done with the money.
Warren Buffett pays a lower rate than his secretary
Gee, that's funny seeing how "a strong social safety net" is DEMANDED by SOCIALIST AND COMMUNISTS right in the "Party platforms".slideman » 05 Mar 2023, 11:58 am » wrote: ↑ As I have made clear here before I am a successful capitalist entrepreneur. You try to label me a communist because that makes it easy for you to disregard what I have to say which is that your position is completely immoral and without merit.
There are real problems faced by the poor and the middle class and you do not address them at all.
Biden is actually doing a good job of trying to.
Go be a moral bankrupt somewhere else
Look at you protect citizens over ancestries. Watch you defend charcter role playing over being honest about what one is as reproductively here one at a time.slideman » 05 Mar 2023, 11:30 am » wrote: ↑ What pains of the common citizens would you like to have addressed?
Leftist Progressive assholes have made the "Safety Net" a viable career path for many, rather than the temporary emergency assistance it is supposed to be..Beekeeper » 05 Mar 2023, 1:00 pm » wrote: ↑ Gee, that's funny seeing how "a strong social safety net" is DEMANDED by SOCIALIST AND COMMUNISTS right in the "Party platforms".
And Trump's policies, which were PRO GROWTH, dramatically REDUCED the poverty numbers AND had more minorities out of poverty than in DECADES!! Yet, you hated him!!
Your Goebbels propaganda is easily seen through.
What would you suggest we do with people who are disabled and can't work?Kobia2 » 05 Mar 2023, 1:09 pm » wrote: ↑ Leftist Progressive assholes have made the "Safety Net" a viable career path for many, rather than the temporary emergency assistance it is supposed to be..

So you think they should be homeless and starving.

Homeless and starving is self inflicted choices of waiting to be resuced from themselves.slideman » 05 Mar 2023, 1:32 pm » wrote: ↑ So you think they should be homeless and starving.

It's becoming more clear that the skepticism was warranted. That masks and lockdowns were largely ineffective security theater. Expensive security theater. A measured response targeting those at risk from serious consequences from a respiratory virus should have been the focus. The chinese lab release should have been investigated while the evidence fresh. Instead we politicized a virus on both sides.slideman » 05 Mar 2023, 12:23 pm » wrote: ↑ The last is a fantasy. I have a real problem with the fact that fauci lied about the masks early on when he said that they weren't effective when he actually thought they were.Neo » 05 Mar 2023, 1:45 pm » wrote: ↑ It's becoming more clear that the skepticism was warranted.
