From what it sounds like, Str8edge posted the info and picture of his son after the topic of "sacrifice" was the gripe of the day between the two of you... and you called him a liar when he told the story... and then he offered evidence by posting pics and documents after the fact.
Just think, at that point if you had simply said, "I'm sorry for your loss and sacrifice." and just let it go, we wouldn't even be having this conversation years later. It would have been over right there, and may have even healed the rift between you two just a little. I kind of doubt it, but maybe.
The thing is, calling someone's mom a whore or wife a slut is one thing, but ridiculing someone's dead child is probably going to get most of the forum lined up against you.

you could have downloaded those "commendations" from anywhere. As someone who your have often called a stolen valor liar about HIS service, most folks will understand my skepticism about the YOUR claims about YOUR son.
But, I do get the last laugh... my kids are all alive and successful.... yours? worm food. Worm food will never give you grand kids, and having just one, I can brag to you about THAT... and tell you that holding a granddaughter in your arms and have her laugh is just about as close to immortality as a man can ever know. Doesn't it truly SUCK to know that you'll never know that feeling?

If I posted a photo of Emmet Till - or any young adult in a coffin - and claimed he was my dead son who had been a sailor who had died, would you believe me? again @Redheaded Stranger are you really going to condone this sort of **** and claim that HE'S got some moral high ground here simply because he claims he had a son who was a sailor who took his own life. What would your retired Naval brethren think if the saw your posts belittling a fellow Navy Vet that had committed suicide from the stress of coming home to a **** situation after a couple of deployments?

I get it. The internet is too toxic, and I am not sure I know, how to make it less so. On the other dot org site, I had been able to build bridges and fences and common ground with a couple of righties... @SixShooter was one of them. On this site, I have built some tentative bridges with @ROG62 and I hope to further solidify that goodwill. I offered an olive branch to @Str8tEdge years ago. He told me to go **** off. If you think I jumped a sharked that he was sitting in the boat watching me do it, you're wrong. But I ain't gonna start a fight with you about it. And, even if they did, and they knew that MY career CV was legit, they would attack @Str8tEdge for denigrating it.
