I have claimed no "valor". My record stands on its own. I merely served my country in uniform for a quarter of a century... and then I retired and started drawing retirement pay which I have continued to do since 1993. Cool thing is that whenI am gone, my wife, who is much younger than I am, will continue to draw 50% of MY retirement check until the day SHE dies.... all thanks from a grateful nation. Did you get a death benefit when your coward son took the easy, permanent solution to a difficult short term problem?
