Education shouldn't have much to do with what's "normal". I believe this idea of "normal" is a root cause of bullying, and other less obvious psychological traumas suffered by many kids.

I live in a small town....at least 3 kids in my daughter's cohort killed themselves before she graduated high school. I knew one of them.
He was being bullied by other members of his hockey team....hung himself....they got to him.....but he died after a week....
I went to boarding school. Take the cruelties of high school and crank them up an order of m
agnitude...kids desperate to reassure themselves will look for ANYTHING in another to push him down. If your issues were manifest (weight, acne, insufficient masculinity, and yes - skin color), g*d help you.
The last thing schools should be doing is enforcing "normalcy".
Raising children in an environment where everybody wins and everybody gets a trophy after the game is teaching them a distorted sense of reality... that they quite often can't handle when said reality slaps them in the face as a young adult.
As cruel as it sounds, bullies have a place in societal construct. They teach that intolerance is a way of life and has to be dealt with regularly. I can almost guarantee you that the kid that hung himself was raised by helicopter parents that taught him he's always a winner, and even when you lose, you win... and when the real world didn't comply, he couldn't handle it and checked out. Coddling isn't doing a kid any favors.
The sexualization of our kids is an entirely different ball of wax. That's being pushed by the deviant class to normalize their sickness for ease of access.

Bible studies should be taught in church. Gun safety should be taught by an expert in gun safety at an appropriate venue, not by an elementary school teacher in a classroom. Darwin vs God...non-sequitur, nowhere in the bible does God mention evolution to anybody. The use of logic and critical thinking, as opposed to dogma should be applied in all subjects. Animal husbandry...seems to me to be more suited for high school and college level studies. Parental values are all over the map, depending on the parents and their brain power. I suspect there are values held by the parents of some students that you don't want mentioned in the classroom...just as there are values held by some parents that I don't agree with. Of course if a kid is growning up on the west side or south side of Chicago, they are learning all about how life isn't fair, in ways that would rip some pampered little white suburban kid or **** country boy to **** shreds. And of course, the bully's parents raise a stink, demand that the jock be expelled and drag the jock's family into civil court. That's how it works with families who generate bullies. When I was was in school, if a bully got the snot beat out of him, it was just deserts. Hauling the kid that issued the beat down and his parents into court over it was unheard of.
More than not, once a bully got their beat down, they quit bullying.
