Suicide is always an individual thing, it is not caused by a person['s occupation.
No one is arguing that a profession causes suicide. But, people who are mentally ill might gravitate toward certain professions, and thus the rate of suicide for that profession might be statistically higher than the mean.

My experience in college was that a lot of psyche majors had unusual mental issues, I suppose that caused them to investigate the field of mental illness further.
But is would be absurd to claim that all psychiatrists and psychologists were mentally ill.
