explain how it is obvious.
Look, focus inthe things we ALL agree on: Jesus was white, as were the disciples and John the Baptist.jerrab » 12 Mar 2023, 4:20 pm » wrote: ↑ yes if He was making a metaphor it would be obvious. but He wasn't.
and He repeated that John the Baptist was elijah in matthew 17
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” 8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, “Don’t tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”10 The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”11 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. 12 But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” 13 Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist.

the disciples knew He was talking about John the Baptist.
one cannot get any clearer than than this.

You already did. 7 times.
he said in clear concrete language that john the baptist was elijah in a past life. if you want to deny it fine, but it proves you don't believe what Jesus said is true and if you don't believe what Jesus said is true, then you cannot possibly be a christian.FOS » 12 Mar 2023, 10:34 am » wrote: ↑ so you are the master theologist here to tell us that everyone got the new testament wrong,. jesus clearly was saying john the baptist is actually god. that is your position?
It could be that Elias/Elija is an OFFICE and not a personage.jerrab » 14 Mar 2023, 4:27 pm » wrote: ↑ he said in clear concrete language that john the baptist was elijah in a past life. if you want to deny it fine, but it proves you don't believe what Jesus said is true and if you don't believe what Jesus said is true, then you cannot possibly be a christian.
king james-- the original version
Matthew 11 ----
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.15 .15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Pat is short for Patricia.PastorBlast » 14 Mar 2023, 4:33 pm » wrote: ↑ Happy Tuesday before St Pats day..
Hey Everybody.. Chill
There’s only one clear answer: it’s St. Paddy, end of discussion. Why? Well, “Paddy” is the casual form of the traditional Irish-Gaelic name Padraic or Pádraig, and its later English variation, Patrick. “Patty,” on the other hand, is traditionally used as a nickname for the female name, Patricia.

elihah was a man who was a prophet in the old testament,Cannonpointer » 14 Mar 2023, 4:38 pm » wrote: ↑ It could be that Elias/Elija is an OFFICE and not a personage.
Kinda like how every soldier in italy was called joe, and we called every German jerry, and the brits called our soldiers yanks. It wasn't their real name and it was their real name, all at the same time.
If Elias/Elija is an OFFICE, and not a personage, then y'all are arguing a non-issue.
I've written a good bit of scripture on the blank pages of those Gideon bibles you find in motel rooms. So, I have some experience in this area.
