They hate you because you don't stand for individual rights, like they do. For example, a liberal will defend the right for a person to become transgender. As long as their rights don't interfere with the rights of others. Progressives, on the other hand, take it further. They omit the part of preserving the rights of others, they will defend the transgender in all cases, such as using women's locker rooms, participating in female sports, etc...Women have a right to privacy. Progressives have no regard for that right for women. They only care about implementing their agenda, and nothing more. 

That's just one example. There are many more.

The point is that liberals care about individual righs as long as those rights don't trample on anyone else. Progressives have no interest in everyone else's rights, only their agneda.
