I can't say this place is like dot-org. It is different.  Here are some of the difference I've noticed:

• Cannonpointer is more active than Kfools ever was in posting and responding to posts.
• Kfools, for a period of time, was trying to do what he could to generate more traffic/interest in the site; I don't really see where that's happening here.
• Dot-org had a revolving door of Mods.  The mods here have been pretty stable. As far as I can tell, there isn't much fighting or infighting between the Mods and/or Mods and members
• There were more liberals on Dot-Org.
• There are more Hitler-type Nazis on this forum.
• More pro-Russian sentiment on this forum than on Dot-Org.  However, interestingly, Kfools apparently identifies as (Russian/Eastern) Orthodox - but, I digress because he pretty much stayed out of conversations.
• Now, the "feel" of this site is blurred some with the addition of Dot-Orgers.
• Impartialobserver tried posting here some, but I don't think he ever got a taste for it.  Same with Imgreatagain.  I liked both of them.

The bottom line - I think this place is less of a ****-show than Dot-Org.  At least Cannonpointer doesn't beg for donations and then shut the place down without giving anyone any heads up.  Also, something just doesn't sit right with me when a bunch of people donate to a site and then the site owner doesn't even give them the courtesy of letting them know where he stands on keeping it running, selling it off, etc.

I would add one more difference. It's only esthetic, but to me, it matters. This board is custom, with features you won't find anywhere else in the webbisphere. That place was off the rack.

Yes, this forum does have some interesting custom features.  It takes awhile to figure out what they are, though. Probably by design.

Not by design - just because it is not anyone's habit to expect them. They literally exist outside the overton window, which is what makes them difficult to apprehend.

Dude, there's some pretty vague, undefined things about this forum.  From my "average forum dude" perspective, I'll name a few:

• Money - Ok, "money" shows up under your avatar when you post - no real information as to what its for, how its generated or how you get it. Then, when you click on money in your profile, you don't get any information about how much you have or how you got it - weird
• Peanut Gallery - can't figure this out unless someone explains it to you.
• Items - WTF???  I guess there's some stuff you can buy - smiley face with a pulsating hard-on, some democrat "things" something called "roll out" for $75,000.  If I buy the gun, do I get enough bullets with it to blast the **** out of Libtards?  I would be really cool if I could shoot someone's avatar and create a bunch of bleeding holes - I might pay a crap ton of lucky bucks for that.
• User Groups - OK, I guess this is for basically Mods and such.
• There are some really good features under the User Control

I completely agree - it's not the user-friendliest. But again, that is partly a function of most of the things you mentioned being entirely novel.
