I am not a NRA member but I can tell you I think the parents are 100% responsible.  If you have  3 and 4 years old running around you don't keep a loaded firearm where they can get it.  I bet the parents aren't NRA members or they might have learned a thing or two about firearm safety.

I have grand kids.  3 of them are teens and a 4 year old.  While I don't keep them loaded with a round chambered the loaded magazine is in the gun.  The older ones were shown the guns but not where they are stored and taught that in the unlikely event they are left out not to pick them up.  If they want to see them (they never have) all they have to do is ask.

When the kids are there the handguns are locked in a safe.

Firearm-related injury recently surpassed motor vehicle crashes to become the leading cause of death among people 1 to 19 years old in the US, according to a 2022 paper published in The New England Journal of Medicine. In that, the US stands alone among world powers.

That age group includes 18 and 19 years olds, which not only aren't children, but are most likely gang bangers and other criminal elements in the urban jungles shooting each other.

Why do you lefties always have to be so damn disingenuous?
14-19 year old *** gangbangers killing each other and hitting innocent elementary school kids in the crossfire.

Ban *** and gun violence will drop 90%

You are citing a stat that includes 18 and 19 year olds in the count, and trying to pass them off as "little kids", when it's simply not the case.

That's disingenuous.
you put "little kids" in quotes as if I said that.

And you want to claim that I am the one who is disingenuous?

That's **** hilarious

My comment had nothing to do with the comparative survey that you claimed leftists were disingenuous about.  It had to do - quite specifically -  with a three year old girl shooting a four year old girl.  Would you suggest that, having reached the ripe old ages of three and four, they were no long er little kids?   Once you don't need diapers anymore, you're a big kid?

you're the guy who won't just say that we have a gun problem in the US and that we, at a minimum, ought to hold negligent parents responsible when they leave their arsenal laying around on the coffee table for three year  olds to kill their four year old siblings.

dizzy yet?

I never said we shouldn't prosecute negligent parents that leave guns laying around in reach of kids... and I don't think we have a gun problem. We have a stupid people problem.

I would think that the parents of those two girls should be imprisoned for manslaughter, if not second degree murder.

What does anyone else think?
I'd mentioned before on this forum, the parents of any child that gets possession of an unsecured firearm in the family home, and kill / injure someone with it need to be fully prosecuted as Adults if though they fired the shots themselves.. I was raised with guns, as shooting was very much a family activity.. As kids, my brothers & I were taught responsible gun safety and ownership.. All arms & ammo were secured in a walk-in gun locker, of which only Dad had keys to access.. Now that said, I'd have no issue with anyone with children seeking to purchase a gun, to make it mandatory law for them to have trigger locks, or a gun safe..

As for your comments regarding the killing of children in any way having a silver lining, you might want to wait until all the facts are known before making that sort of idiotic comment ... The shooting occurred in an apartment Houston.... The Sheriff Ed Gonzalez who spoke outside in front of the apartment gave his press conference in both English and ESPANOL.. Don't be surprised if the adult had the gun was one of the illegals who your own side gladly held the door open for to come here --- rather than the Texan you are implying is responsible..

Since I don't belong to NRA I cannot speak for any member, but my guess would be the two children weren't in a solid family unit were parents teach children not to touch such things at all.

Gang members being killed shouldn't even raise the "deaths caused by..." charts at all.
They can be special and have their own category. That should be easy the do.
We, as a country, have just proved we can single out any sort of specific type of death we want.

**** Piece of **** Deaths may not be the "official title" of said chart, but it's a start.

Why is it you don't see Karma administering justice immediately with the death of one of their children. Death of one's child is the first sign of personal extinction.

Children are life after death if you never knew that before.

What the hell does the NRA have to do with this? This falls on the parents, you ***-clown. What kind of "Navy veteran" is against the second amendment anyways? You outta be ashamed of yourself. FWIW, it looks pathetic when people throw the "Proud veteran" card in other peoples faces. I served 6 years in the military too. Guess what? Nobody gives a ****. You're the kinda guy that probably served 4-8 years flying a desk but shuffle around acting like you stormed Normandy. It makes us look bad. Stop it. The vast majority of vets don't fall on your political spectrum anyways.

what does the NRA have to do with the rampant scourge of gun violence in America?

If you have to ask, we really have nothing to talk about.

What does self-righteous maineclown think of 100,000 deaths a year due to fentanyl pouring in over Biden's open southern border?

It's clear that maineclown doesn't really care who dies...he's just playing politics.

I am certainly not a groomer... I raised my own kids to be well adjusted successful adults... but the bright side is that the spawn of gun toting MAGA loving Texans can't make the gene pool any shallower than it already is.... silver lining.
