this is just a dumb anecdote. It amazes me to think of how stupid a person has to be to think this is some gotcha. I can assure you that somewhere else in this country...probably in the same day...a person successfully defended themselves with a gun. Legislation should not be passed over some anecdote

There is NO space anywhere where 2A lovers will EVER agree to ANY form of gun control. ANY! If you want to live in America, you need to accept the fact that guns are everywhere and nobody can do a **** thing to protect themselves or their families from gun violence that pervades society except arm themselves and be ever ready to get into a gun fight to protect yourself and your loved ones... because guns and gun violence, and mass gun shooting casualties are just an undeniable reality in the USA. Deal with it. There is no compromise. There is no consensus solution other than arming yourself and your loved ones.

its fine if you care about it, i am just more pessimistic than you. I think the constitution is a dead letter and wont protect any of our 'rights'. after all it is only **** written on paper. Power only needs to respect that if it wants to maintain an air of legitimacy. how many people think this government is legitimate?
