how to keep guns out of the hands of people who would use as an offensive weapon in social situations?  Universal background checks, waiting periods, mandatory gun safety classes, red flag laws, outlawing full auto weapons altogether, outlawing high capacity magazines, age limits for owning certain types of firearms.... there have been lots of ideas floated by folks who would like to see gun violence reduced by what they consider to be common sense gun laws.  The gun nuts want to claim that "shall not be infringed" is some sacrosanct line in the sand, but has already been crossed, hasn't it?    We can't own shoulder fired stinger missiles, I don't believe.  Sawed off shotguns ae illegal, aren't they?

We have discussed those things in the past but I want to bring up one point.  "Full Auto" weapons, or what is classified as machine gun by the ATF, are not an issue.  There has been only 2 or 3 incidents where an automatic has been used in a crime since the NFA of 1934.

Most people can't buy one anyway.  To buy an automatic weapon it has to have been manufactured before Mar 1986.  There is a very limited supply.  About 600,000 and they cost thousands of dollars.  Also, you have to go thru a Class 3 dealer, register the weapon with the Fed Gov, pay 200 bucks, and go thru an extensive background check that takes months.

It's a one time fee.  But it was set at $200 because back then it was a lot of money and there were more of them in circulation.  They were marketed to the public.

You keep saying that no one is offering solutions, when you don't have any to offer yourself.
There are no solutions.  Throwing the parents in jail would serve to make examples of them, but they have other children, and to lock up one or both parents would certainly harm their remaining children.

I agree that mandatory safety classes should be a thing. I'll go a step farther and say that firearm safety should be a required subject in order to graduate from high school.

Or, "sensible gun laws" with which the majority of 2A advocates agree - putting the **** stain groomer's thesis to rout.
