We have discussed those things in the past but I want to bring up one point. "Full Auto" weapons, or what is classified as machine gun by the ATF, are not an issue. There has been only 2 or 3 incidents where an automatic has been used in a crime since the NFA of 1934.maineman » 15 Mar 2023, 12:12 pm » wrote: ↑ how to keep guns out of the hands of people who would use as an offensive weapon in social situations? Universal background checks, waiting periods, mandatory gun safety classes, red flag laws, outlawing full auto weapons altogether, outlawing high capacity magazines, age limits for owning certain types of firearms.... there have been lots of ideas floated by folks who would like to see gun violence reduced by what they consider to be common sense gun laws. The gun nuts want to claim that "shall not be infringed" is some sacrosanct line in the sand, but has already been crossed, hasn't it? We can't own shoulder fired stinger missiles, I don't believe. Sawed off shotguns ae illegal, aren't they?
I believe the $200 is an annual certificate, and is per firearm as well.Huey » 15 Mar 2023, 12:58 pm » wrote: ↑ We have discussed those things in the past but I want to bring up one point. Most people can't buy one anyway. To buy an automatic weapon it has to have been manufactured before Mar 1986. There is a very limited supply. About 600,000 and they cost thousands of dollars. Also, you have to go thru a Class 3 dealer, register the weapon with the Fed Gov, pay 200 bucks, and go thru an extensive background check that takes months.

Only pretty affluent people with lots of disposable income have fully automatic weapons... legally anyway.
Hey ******! Show us the three guns
cuz YOU say so?
Big man on the board bragging about shooting and killing members with his “three guns” **** ******! Yes you old man. Show these “guns”
Wait, wait, wait.Xavier_Onassis » 15 Mar 2023, 11:28 am » wrote: ↑ How do YOU propose we fix that?
There is no real way to fix this, the kid is dead and cannot be resurrected.
You keep saying that no one is offering solutions, when you don't have any to offer yourself.
There are no solutions. Throwing the parents in jail would serve to make examples of them, but they have other children, and to lock up one or both parents would certainly harm their remaining children.
If they were billionaires, you could fine them millions

HEY!RedheadedStranger » 15 Mar 2023, 12:17 pm » wrote: ↑ Which regulation out of the list you just cited would have prevented those idiots from leaving a loaded firearm out where the kid could get their hands on it?
Because I didn't see anything that would have prevented them from having it in the first place.

Anyone sends a mission against one of MY bunkers, they're gonna find out who "can't" own what.
Or, "sensible gun laws" with which the majority of 2A advocates agree - putting the **** stain groomer's thesis to rout.Huey » 15 Mar 2023, 12:58 pm » wrote: ↑ We have discussed those things in the past but I want to bring up one point. Old man needs a yellow flag…
From the window of MY bunker, groomer, it looked to me like he was **** on your thesis that 2A advocates oppose even the most reasonable and sensible limits and conditions on gun ownership - a thesis that has been **** on by multiple posters including myself.maineman » 15 Mar 2023, 3:23 pm » wrote: ↑ He and I were having an intelligent and cordial conversation. I own three firearms. I will not "show" then to some gasbag on an internet message board.
However, if you try to enter my home, you will probably see one of them.... for a moment.
