I would favor resetting the cap to $300K.

My main point is that neither Haley nor Pence can wage much of a campaign without tapping into some billionaire's fortune.
The only two people who might be able to finance a campaign now are Trump and Romney.

There IS the spectre of thee wealthy subsiding out the less so - and you're good with that? as far I know haley's plan would reduce everyone's benefits. but the very rich would find a way to fight it. there will be a clause because she wants big donors.

it is not my main focus, however if someone decides that someone making 50 billion dollars a year should not get social security it would not break my heart- however they should be able to keep medicare.
