Taxes aren't the problem. The point is avoiding taxing productivity, and also not financially supporting drop-out mentality with taxes. If people take on the responsibility of looking after themselves and their families, we end up with a better society, populated with responsible, stable adults who are bringing up responsible, stable kids, that don't need taxes to support their very existence. We're a long way from that right now

That's what everyone wants.. so to get there, we don't want to encourage or support delinquency - and instead, we should encourage and support the exact opposite.. because stable law-abiding families lead to stable law-abiding kids.. who grow up to be stable law-abiding adults - which leads to a stable law-abiding society that doesn't need taxes to take care of every societally destructive aspect of their delinquent behaviour.

The Dems focus is on the wrong end of the problem

but is this a fair representation of what actually happens in the USA? wages are terrible...people can both work full time and be on food stamps. People living off welfare are in general too insane/mentally challenged to actually be capable of gainful employment. The lazy people are actually the trust fund babies.

anyway...this is not what socialism is about. it is not about just giving people a free ride. successful socialism should be about incentivizing healthy behavior using the state economy

You've proven you don't understand what socialism is or the fact that most true conservatives are non-interventionist.

That doesn't mean Republican establishment politicians are but MAGA for instance is very non-interventionist in nature.

You bore me.  It's just a start.  I'm not going to sit here and slash up the budget for idiots like you.  If I were going to do that, I'd start with 1) Military, 2) Social Services/Welfare, 3) VA, and 4) Medicare.

Still, if we used all of the human capital just taking up space in these worthless government offices to fight Ukraine's war for them, 2 great things would happen: We would win and we would eliminate a ****-ton of worthless government positions without having to fire anyone.

And it’s not a nuanced form of opposition to taxes e.g. “I don’t like paying taxes coz our government is owned by (((globalists)))” but just an overall antipathy to taxation in general.

Probably due to Rush Limbaugh or some other conservative grifter/cult personality repeating the nonsense about how the Revolutionary War was fought over taxes (“and only real Americans would therefore oppose taxes blab blah”) when it was actually fought over money printing privileges.

The irony is despite decades of “tax cutting” your typical American is paying a roughly similar tax rate as they did back in 1970, adjusted for real inflation.

Anyway there’s nothing coherent about American conservative “intellectualism” as it’s just a hodgepodge of Jew fellation, Mammon worship, Christian LARPing, and **** Fox/Breitbart/Daily Wire narratives.
