You would be hard pressed to prove that 70+ million Americans support him because of their ignorance .....
Or because of his showmanship....
how about the fact that since he first became President the entire establishment has tried to destroy him , politically persecute him, and by extension those same Americans who voted for him.
Do you think he was kidding when he stated that "they are not after me as much as they are after you".........?
how many Americans since 2016 have seen this country devolve into an upside down unrecognizable country due to the Dem's pivoting to the extreme left?
or how about how the establishment -created hoax after hoax after hoax b​​ecause they realized they could not control a populist president like they now control Biden....
and that fear of Trump is still at the center of his ongoing political persrecution ...
so, maybe just maybe.... they see Trump as a symbol of what America needs ....
a leader which will clean house of the corruption and tyranny that is the establishment .....
he has become a folk hero ....that a great many Americans have embraced and which the establishment has failed to destroy and in fact has because of their own stupidty .....martyred him ....

and as for my conservative friends whom have switched to DeSantis .....
all I can say is that DeSantis will have his chance in 2028 ......because he has no **** chance now of beating Trump in the primaries ....
and the most important  thing is that we take back control of this country before the Dems totally destroy it .....
and in my opinion DeSantis is exactly who the Dems want as well as the establishment to run against ......so they can bring back the status quo which keeps the corruption going ......
