Where one country wins a war against another country by using nukes, this is much better in the long run than engaging in a conventional war with your enemy.  Case in point:  Japan v. China and Japan v. US.

The Chinese and Japanese despise each other even to this day.  It is nearly impossible for a Chinese to date a Japanese. They simply hate each other.  They rip on each other's cultures relentlessly.  While both Chinese and Japanese families will accept someone from European decent, they will never accept a intermarriage between Chinese and Japanese.

Consider that the United States dropped two nuclear weapons on Japan, killing thousands and permanently destroying two major cities.  Yet, it increases a Japanese girl's status if she marries a high caliber American, whereas marrying someone from China makes her almost "untouchable".  Where the Japanese do not resent Americans for nuking them, they do resent the Chinese for the bloody war that ensued between China and Japan during WWII.

So, in the long run and for a longer-term peace between warring countries, it is best to swiftly annihilate your enemy and accept a quick peace treaty than engage in protracted battles trying to avoid the deaths of women, children and non-combatants even if less lives are lost.

I don't know about this. Maybe in their homeland, the conflict between the Chinese and Japanese are very real. However, in America, they seem to get along just fine. In fact, here in Vegas, we have a Chinatown. Japs go there frequently and mingle just fine with the Chinese.

The hatred tends to be a bit lopsided.  Chinese hate Japanese.  The Japanese dislike the Chinese and wouldn't typically even consider dating one.

You don't know much about this. My friend and colleague is Taiwanese and his sister is married to a Japanese guy and thy live in Tokyo,
The Chinese hate the former WWII government of Japan.
The Japanese are competitors of the Chinese and of course do not want the Chinese to dominate East Asia.
Americans cannot tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese, Korans and Taiwanese.

Nuclear war should be avoided, it is not a solution to anything.
