We Christians believe the otter has to hunt the fish to live, because the world is fallen. The forbidden fruit was taken and the gates to Eden were shut and death was introduced to creation.

So God's original plan was to populate the entire planet with immortal creatures. There would be no reason for reproduction, all the lions and tigers would have been vegetarians, peacefully grazing on vegetation.

Why was Eden a special place, then, why was the entire planet not an Eden?

So, here's a question for you.  You and I are on a camping trip together.  **** happens and we get lost deep into the hills somewhere where North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia's borders meet.  You're going to die if you don't eat and the only food is me.  I'm going to die if I don't eat, and the only food is you.  Are you going to try and survive by slitting my throat and roasting my thigh over an open flame, or are you going to sacrifice yourself so that I can survive?

Well, I am not an Eagle Scout, don't know what weeds to eat, don't like the taste of crickets and worms, and after a couple of days you sure would look mighty tasty.

I got a ton of dandylions eats in my field. I figure I don't need any lettuce for the rest of the year?

The aboriginal tribes of North America routinely enslaved their enemies from other tribes ....another fact.

By the time of the Jamestown colony in VA, the Spanish and Portuguese had been operating sugar, tobacco and indigo plantations in the Caribbean and South America for three or four generations.  The fact is that clearing land for planting is very hard and dangerous work. Colonists came to America because they could get free land. Of course, landowners in Europe did not clear land themselves, they had peasants to do it.

Francisco Pizarro was the bastard son of a minor landholder and knew all about the drudgery of peasant life, and he wanted no part of it.

Do you have to believe in God to understand the concept of there being one?
