Yeah I posted the same thing over at the other place about a black guy that got blasted like that in front of his wife and daughter. All the Republicans said was *** should of told them he had the gun on him he deserved to get shot. Now it's a white dude and it's the cops fault. Gotta love Republicans.

Cops see a gun and it's on.
And,what was he doing to get scrutinized by the police in the first place?
Another is so you don't make yourself a target for bad guys. They will either try to take it or shoot you first because you're advertising you're a "tough" guy.
Open carry is for the look at me crowd that don't have either the mental faculty to get training or laziness or both.

I have no sympathy for those irresponsible gun owners. They're just as bad as the ones that don't secure firearms around children.

So you didn't like the part about Hunter...got it.

In watching this "video", you see something going on that is more the reason he was shot than the weapon was.

The DEAD IDIOT was confrontational with the police as they made a LAWFUL order for his ID. Secondly, HE SHOULD HAVE COMPLIED and he likely would have been on his way and has some kind of ticket for something minor that won't get him killed.

THIRD, you VERBALLY TELL THE OFFICER YOU ARE CARRYING. AND you step out of your vehicle and ALLOW THAT OFFICER to remove your weapon so that NO ONE gets harmed or shot. You are NOT going to lose it and because you were 100% compliant, you find a level of respect that goes up, not putting the cops in a DEFENSIVE posture.

The BOTTOM LINE is that STUPIDITY is the reason this idiot was shot and killed. NO other explanation needed and the VIDEO shows that conclusion to be 100% SPOT ON!!

Another thing. Here it's illegal to have a loaded pistol in a vehicle unless you have a CPL. Even though open carry is legal. Step out with a  pistol on your hip you better have a CPL or you're getting a gun charge.

I watched the video.  Here is my assessment:

• The kid was being an asshole
• The kid handed the cop a passport and not a license - not smart.
• The kid told the cop that "it wasn't him" - i.e. admitted to handing the cop a fake ID - dumb
• The kid was argumentative with the cop
• The kid refused to get out of the car.  At this point, the cop had the right to arrest the kid.
• The kid never informed the cop that he was carrying a gun
• However, the kid was not acting erratically, violently or making any type of threats.
• The cops over-reacted when they saw a gun.  They did not need to shoot.  It was a bad shoot by the cops.

I agree 100%.  I always carry concealed.  Too many nervous people out there.  As well as making yourself a target.

I saw the video and read the story here.  At one point the kid said the following:A second officer who had arrived as backup threatens to break Allan’s window and pull him out if he doesn't get out voluntarily.Allan refuses to get out of the car and warns the officers they will “have an issue” if they proceed as they have been.

After he said that he does the following:

 He then transfers the phone with which he is recording the incident from his right hand to his left hand. He simultaneously moves his coat back to reveal a holster on his right hip, the video shows. No gun is visible at that point on the video.The officer who pulled Allan over then opens the door of the car. That's when, police say, Allan's hand moves toward his right hip, where his holster is. Another officer tries to remove Allan from the car as the others stand behind him, and at least one of the officers begins yelling, "Gun!"

I have been pulled over once while carrying.  Up and down the southeast the laws differ concerning whether or not you have to tell a cop you are carrying.  My CCP is behind my wallet.  I handed the cop both.  

I am not sure if it is a bad shooting. Fake license plate, possible fake passport, no license, claims he doesn't have to follow our laws, refuses to exit the vehicle, issues a threat, then moves his hand to his right hip where the visible holster is.

I don't know what led up to the encounter...but the cops didn't have to open fire like they were in a combat zone.
