The Social Security so-called "trust fund" is a myth!!! It is a giant ponzy scheme run by the government. Benefits being paid today come from current tax payers and government borrowing. The government (Congress) has been using excess Social Security taxes to fund other parts of their excessive government spending and replaced those funds with worthless government IOUs (special bonds) that the government cannot repay.
