He may have gotten back more in child tax credits than he paid that year but he damn sure didn't get back what he earned in income. How much welfare (food stamps, section 8 housing, etc) does he get?

My granddaughter and her husband both have decent jobs and 4 kids under 12.  They get most of their income taxes they pay in during the year back but they damn sure don't get more than they make.  NONE of their kids got to go the the worthless head start pre-K  **** indoctrination because they make too much money to qualify for it.  They get NO food stamps, or any other assistance and have NO medical insurance because they can't afford the $800/month premiums.  They pay all their medical and dental expenses out of their pockets.

It pays in the US to be a deadbeat or and illegal alien!!!

You can do this as well: just ask the government to withhold a large chunk of income from your paycheck.
They will be happy to do this, because essentially you are loaning the Feds money at 0% interest. (even less if you figure in inflation).

He has two kids, a stay in bed wife and worked as a respiratory therapist on call that year. And no government assistance. He refuses to get the jab

When the trust fund was created in 1935, the law stipulated that any excess revenues coming into the Social Security system must be used to purchase federal government bonds. (At the time, the stock market had just lost over 75% of its value and was understood to be unsafe.)

Federal bonds are absolutely safe; the government of the United States has never defaulted on any bond obligation. Former President Bush appeared to be ready to break this tradition.

He appeared to want the Treasury to “selectively default” on the bonds in the Social Security trust fund. He obviously felt the United States doesn’t have to meet its obligation to the working people of America the way it meets its obligations to ultra-wealthy bondholders.

His suggestion that the U.S. government might not be willing to repay its debt obligations was remarkable and for a time completely disrupted global financial markets. What

A ceiling is not a ceiling......if it can be raised at any time.
Spending money that we do not have is immoral.
How much do we take in every yr.?     About 4 Trillion?
Now we are about 8 times that amount in debt.
That ain't cool.
If you were cop at $50,000/yr, would being $400,000 in debt.
be OK w/ you ? (I don't think so).

The SS Trust Fund is full of worthless special-issue (intra-government debt) Treasury bonds only available to SS.  The rich, (china has sold most of it government debt) banks and the Federal Reserve own most of the other debt.

Every election you idiots claim Republicans are going to cut Socialist Security.
Funny thing, it's only been republicans who have made changes to make SS stronger.

But you do you.

Republicans are soooo stupid.
A good portion of their voters receive or are set to receive SS benefits.
Go ahead and try taking that away.
Bye,bye republican party.
They've already lost the young people vote.
The black and Latino vote.
The woman vote.
And now the retiree vote.
See you idiots in 2024!
