I've purchased tens of thousands of Chinese made products in two of my businesses and the quality was as good as any that were made here. The major drawback in buying from China is the extensive shipping and customs delays, which can only be overcome by paying extra for air freight, which then wipes out much of the price savings differential. It's also difficult to get quick responses because of the time difference, especially from those of us on the east coast.

I have a small yard around a detached house and I use a SunJoe corded mower that works very well. I paid under $150, but now they are around $180. It has a bag, a mulcher attachment and I need no gasoline. Extension cords are easy to buy used at yard sales. A previous Black and Decker electric mower I bought used for $10 lasted me for 12 years, and the motor still worked, but the switch broke and no replacement was available. The problem today is that manufacturers don't give a crap about quality, the middle guys that package products and sell them to Walmart don't give a crap about anything but profits and packaging the crap to maximize that profit. The fact is that this country actually chased thousands of business out of this country with our high taxes, endless regulations, useless inspections, needless registrations, mandatory insurance, absurd safety requirements, and overlapping bureaucracies that made it almost impossible to continue manufacturing anything here in the US. I spent more time handling all those requirements than I did designing and selling new products, only to see the government allow China to dump millions of similar products in our market at prices that sold for less than my cost of making them. As a consumer, I will buy products from china if it suits my needs. Now, if we ever get a real President of this country again who puts "America First" and really means it, I may very well change my tune on that.
