They DID know about it.  News reports state that LEO's were called to the suspect's house on numerous occasions for complaints about him shooting his weapon in his backyard.  This was not a surprise to them.   THEY could have disarmed the situation weeks before.

Immigration from Latin America is an extremely complex, multi-faceted dilemma without easy solutions.  You can put it all on Biden if it makes you feel better, but that is irrational and overly simplistic.  Fixing this problem will demand Democrats and Republicans start acting like adults and work together to GOVERN this damned country instead of simply sniping at one another to gain some tactical advantage in the next election cycle.  This is tough stuff.  Like health care or climate change.  It cannot be fixed with one-liners and sound bites.

He had what looked like brand new guns.

You might want to look at gun laws so lax that anyone including a person that isn't a citizen of the U.S.A. can buy one legally.
 A background check might have come in handy there huh?
  Looks to me that Texas is fairly guilty in letting this happen.

But we do know that this man has been deported numerous times and kept coming back.

And local law enforcement knew about him and had been called to his residence on previous occasions because of complaints of him discharging his firearm in his backyard. If they had done their jobs, those people would still be alive today.

The Federal Gun Control Act of 1968 makes it a felony with a 10 year prison sentence for “illegal Aliens” to own or possess a gun.  Unlike the other categories of persons prohibited from possessing guns, the law forbids ALL undocumented immigrants from owning or possessing guns, even those that have never committed any of the listed crimes.

Obviously, Oropesa obtained his guns illegally and could careless about any gun laws.  Either on the black market or he stole them.  

Which proves that passing all the gun laws and bans will NOT stop criminals from obtaining guns.  Criminals do not obey laws!!!
 
Oropesa would  not have been in the US if Ortiz and his agents were allowed to enforce the laws already on the books regarding illegal immigration!!!

The LEO's were on the scene and did not appropriately respond.  Their failure to act when initially confronted with an illegal alien discharging a firearm was the immediate, proximate reason five people died.

They did not want to be called RACISTS!!!  I don't know why LEO's hadn't already confiscated his guns and arrested him for illegal possession of weapons by an illegal immigrant.  

I have tried googling several ways and can find nothing about their visit/s prior to the massacre.  Too many liberal sites on google don't want to report anything detrimental about an illegal messkin for fear of being called RACIST.
