At this point I believe we just have to weather the storm and try our best, as a society, to raise the upcoming generations better than we have the last two or three.

The current state of affairs in this Country didn't happen in a vacuum. It's been coming for a while now, and it's going to get worse before it gets better, if it ever gets better. 

Banning guns or even enacting new laws won't do **** to stop this. We need to harden the soft targets, and be diligent about looking out for one another first and foremost. This guy that just shot up the mall in Texas threw up all kinds of red flags that should have been caught beforehand, as did the Nashville shooter, and a host of others. 

My wife always thought I was crazy for carrying a firearm everywhere I went, now she makes sure I have it before we leave the house. It's just the state of the world anymore.

I agree that banning guns won't work.  Red Flag laws have been proposed by Democrats and Republicans for years but they rarely pass.  And there are way too many soft targets to harden.  I have no other ideas.

How about actually enforcing the laws that we have.  Seriously,

• Stop illegal aliens from coming into the country and deport those that are already here.  They are driving wages down and taking jobs away from those who are turning to crime because they can't support themselves.
• Make criminals do the time for the crime.  Keep them locked up. That reduces crime right there.
• Enforce the laws, and make sure everyone knows that the laws we already have will be enforced.

Then, on the other side of things, let's figure out WHY people are engaging in random violence.  They want something. What do they want?  Fame.  Notoriety.  Enact laws to take that away from them.  No publishing "Manifestos" on the internet.  No mention of the perp by name. If they don't end up killing themselves, don't allow them any access to media so they can't bask in fame. 

Get people interacting with each other and away from games and social media.  This one is hard, I'm not sure how to do this.   But, I do feel certain that social media, games and other distractions are why boys and girls, men and women aren't looking to each other for companionship.

I have never seen a group of people so ready to curl up into the fetal position and just give up when **** gets tough as the current group of 20 somethings in this Country today. I mean, these people get hysterical and often violent when someone doesn't address them by their chosen pronouns for cryin' out loud... how the hell are they gonna handle it when life gives them a REAL kick in the teeth?

The answer is, they're not. They're gonna go shoot up the place they used to work, or kill their parents, or a bunch of strangers at a mall. They're going to lash out at whoever they perceive as having done them wrong.

These aren't boomers or Gen Xers doing most of these mass shootings. It's Millennials and Gen Zers and more Zers that the any other.

Just wait until Gen A grows into adulthood. We haven't seen anything yet I'm afraid.

There may be a lot of truth in what you've said - they haven't learned how to cope or carve out their own path in life. So they choose suicide (suicide is way up too) and in doing so figure they will take as many as they can with them, leaving a "legacy" behind.

Statistically, I will probably never need a gun.   And if someone decides to gun me down, Not much I can do about it.

I took the  time to review the situation and came up with a solution--- back off the lie that boys can become girls simply by wishing and you turn it down. it proves you are not serious about ending school shootings. you  are  only concerned about teaching boys how to become girls.
