Those who quit drinking Bud Light will find another brand of yellow, lightly flavored, carbonated water to drink. And in a few years.. folks will go back to Bud Light. Their supposed adamant resolve will waver.

Strangely enough my first drink of any kind was a Schlitz Bull Ice. Had no idea what it was. Paid some bum to make the purchase for me being that i was only 20. I gave him $20 and told him to get me two tall cans of "good stuff". Well, he came back with two and I let him keep the change. Yeah, I did not get the better end of that deal.

I never cared for the "Ice" beers. They always had a strange taste to me.

I remember when I was a kid, Schlitz was as prominent at cookouts and adult gatherings as Bud Light is (or used to be) today. 

From what I've read, you can still find Schlitz in certain parts but it's pretty much a dead brand now, that was once at the top of the heap.

Didn't you have a gas station that would sell beer to minors?  I thought every town had one of those.  We were buying beer when we were 16.....and, getting into trouble with the law by the time we were 17.

I was not aware. Dad was a heavy duty alcoholic from 1967 to 1977. I was born in 1977 and he quit cold turkey shortly after I was born. So growing up, I never saw a single drop of alcohol. I had no knowledge of anything regarding this. All I knew is that I had to be 21. Well, I was only one of four that passed Zoology 201.. human anatomy and physiology. That was the hardest course that I ever took. Professor was Eastern European and spoke like an auctioneer. We had two grades; midterm and final. Each was long and graded very strictly. I felt that I had to celebrate..somehow, someway so that's why I had the bum get me two tall cans. Needless to say, tasted terrible and so I just pounded them. Do not remember much of that night.

Budweiser, is also down 9.7% versus an 11.4% drop a week earlier.   Michelob Ultra, down 2.9% versus 4.3%; and Natural Light, down 2.5% versus 5.2% the previous week.  Meanwhile, competing brands are up anywhere from 7% to 23% due to Budweiser customers switching brands.

Invest with us, the customer and the customers body will always be always wrong.

I am convinced that the Devil himself creates terrible professors to torture naive, ambitious college students.  I had two that stand out more than the others, neither of which were foreign.

One was a logic professor (had a fleeting thought that I might want to be a software engineer) who was brilliant but lectured in a monotone voice very much like Marvin the Martian (if you didn't watch Bugs Bunny growing up, see picture below).  Ten minutes into every lecture, my eyelids would get heavy, vision blurry and I would be wildly dreaming while forcing my eyelids to stay open.  Thankfully, he had a TA that could actually make sense of the professor's monotone ramblings. The absolute worst professor I had was in a business class. Something was wrong with this guy.  He rambled in a scatterbrained manner which was not that much different than what Omh tends to write. I would try to take notes and my notes were completely unintelligible, just like he was.  Oh, I could understand the words.  He just couldn't formulate actual sentences.  Then, he required that we read a journal article that he wrote.  I read it, or at least I tried to read it.  It was one run-on sentence after another, which violated every grammatical rule I ever learned. "How the F- did this **** get past an editor and actually published", was all I could think.  I couldn't stand it so I marked it up like a 4th grade teacher reading some lazy retard's first draft of "what I did last summer".

Here I thought that all college professors did was indoctrinate students with "Marxist ideology".

The assumption is that a person who has completed all the requirements for an MA and PhD will have attended so many classes that he/she will automatically learn how to each by osmosis, To get a teaching certificate to teach in public schools, one has to take courses in practice teaching, learning theory and such. To teach in college or in "charter schools", none of this is required.

My most boring course was Econ 101. I made an A in it, but it was at 7 AM and the prof had a droning voice.

Once in an early morning European history class, a Dr Pugh noticed that I was the only one awake. So he said, "when the class is over, let;s leave veeerrry quietly, and not wake anyone up. Which is what we did.

I took a very useful course in language lab procedures and about four education courses, because I taught in HS first. It was useful mostly because the professor had done his thesis in language learning.

He sobered up because I was the fourth kid and his income had been declining due to back problems.

the human and anatomy prof was the only one that I ever had that was in the class of the two that you describe. I changed my major on the monday after passing that course. Life got in the way and so resumed my studies 10 years later but never even considered being a pre-med major again.

oh... and then a year later.. kid #5 arrived. Again, all of this dependent on one income. an income that was declining due to having a bad back. Growing up without alcohol in my life was not such a bad thing.
