My post was responding, point by point, to the post from another board member. The ONLY reason I talked about healthcare in that post was because he had previously.  I have absolutely nothing to worry about when it comes to healthcare.  I have Medicare and I have TRICARE for Life and, between the two programs, I literally never pay a dime for any aspect of healthcare.  Thanks, grateful nation!! :D

I am far from a single-issue voter... there is no one issue that drives my vote but, rather, a whole range of issues.  At this stage in my life, most of the things I worry about surround my hopes and fears for my children and grandchildren.  Therefore, the long view is where I am focused.  I worry about our environment.  I worry about how global unrest and fanaticism continue to destabilize life in the Western world. I want to see our military remain strong and well trained and equipped and I want to see our military continue to work closely and cooperatively with the armed forces of other Western democratic allies.  I worry about the long-term makeup of the courts.  I worry about the increasing disparity between the rich and the poor.  I worry about the erosion of civility in our politics and our increasingly hostile clan mentality.  I want to ensure that a strong social safety net is compassionately administered.  I worry about gun violence and I hope that common-sense gun control measures can be agreed upon.  Those issues are among the ones that my family and I talk about over dinners or just cocktails whenever we can.

Most of what you worry about did not escalate until President Obama's first term and became worse during his second.

And who is more hostile and uncivil? The left. The WOKE. the BLM, the AOC, the Maxine, the "abolish the police", the reparations fanatics, the Lori Lightfoot, the ACLU, the Rainbow Coalition, the Squad, on and on and on.

Obama started a fire.

Dr. Carson was a smarter, demure, moderate republican who had the necessary human compassion of the pediatric neurosurgeon he was. But he wasn't in the good old boy's club. I have no doubt that he would have made very sound decisions. I would have him as President in a heartbeat, but liberals want an orator who makes them swoon. An orator with no substance. His **** walked.

Your "party" would chastise, mock and assault you if they heard you utter one word against the things they endorse, and you do not. Tell them you don't believe in Trans and *** in the military. Watch the response. No moderation with them. Everything aside from their talking points is verboten and attacked. Yes?

I am a member of my county's party committee.  I routinely express ALL of those worries and concerns and have NEVER been chastised, let alone attacked.  NOT ONCE.  Odd how you can claim to know how my party would react to me when you are neither a member of my party nor me.  Mind your own knitting.

I would suggest that "Gym" Jordan, MTG, Gaetz, Boebert, and Gohmert are every bit as hostile and uncivil as the left team members you mention.  I am represented in Congress by Chellie Pingree... who is a solid, moderate democrat... like me... and the far left has a place in my party, but we don't share a lot of beers.  Nonetheless, I would drink a case of Budweiser with AOC and then piss on MTG because SHE REALLY is a disgusting ****.

And I would have voted for Ben Carson over Hillary Clinton.  I thought she was an incredibly divisive, weak candidate only surpassed in her dive to the bottom of the pile by the amoral, incurious, vain, misogynistic, racist conman who beat her... and whom you still fellate.

Get on CNN, then explain why we shouldn't have LGTBQRST people in the military. You'd get some very nasty repercussions from the majority of democrats. And you know it. What influential democrat in the hierarchy has publicly disapproved of it, and what do you think would happen if they did? Hey, the **** still walks. Liberals are far worse when it comes to civility. They publicly harass republican politicians at restaurants, with their families, and do you recall Waters telling people (in so many words) to seek them out?
AOC would piss on you (you may enjoy the golden shower) instead of sharing a Butt Light if you told her you are against *** in the military and tranny teaching in school.

Prove Trump is a racist. He's admired by many law-abiding black people who want to separate themselves from the deadbeat, criminal, racist and militant black element.

The majority of democrats, or a majority of talking head democrats on CNN?  There's a difference.

And again, LBGTQ issues may be THE hottest newest wedge issue for the right since they actually were the dog who caught the car about Roe v Wade and now don't HAVE that wedge issue to motivate their voters and donors, but it ain't really a hot button issue for ANY mainstream democrat.

And I really have no desire to play whataboutism games with you about who is more uncivil.  We both have bad actors on our sides.

And I don't need to prove anything about Trump. I didn't vote for him the first time he ran, only because he was marginally worse than his competitor.  I didn't vote for him the second time he ran because, at that point, I thought, that even the antichrist would be a better option, and he has only gotten LESS palatable to me in the time since then.  If you want to vote for that man, go for it.  But, for chrissakes, don't storm the capitol in January in 2025.  I would hate to see you be Ashli Babbitt redux.... actually, forget that, I wouldn't mind that a bit!

bottom lines:  I have zero sympathy for people who abuse illegal drugs and end up killing themselves, and I have even less sympathy for cops who abuse their authority and pay a steep price for doing so.
no, he OD'd as his heart stopped beating...the jurors were too afraid to believe the forensic expert's conclusion....

so we should toss out the jury system and just let the "experts" decide guilt or innocence?

Why would you claim to know how Cletis spells his name, you presumptuous, sanctimonious prick?

I'd bet you'd tell Anfernee Hardaway he misspells HIS name, too, right "doc"?
