 I had a friend that lived in Oak Cliff, just across the river from Dallas(TX)
The Dallas Zoo was about 2 blocks away. Blacks lived all around him.
On a Friday or Saturday night the natives got restless and were running around every where.
All of a sudden a Lion would roar a couple of times. I could just imagine being on safari!
One night I was visiting him over there and we heard a car screech around the corner, engines racing, brakes slamming on and car doors slamming. A black came up being chased by a couple of police. He was hollering Ruff, Ruff.Ruff.
His girl friend, Ruth, lived above my friend. The cops caught him and hand cuffed him, that was before they started shooting them.
After it all settled down, Ruth, came out on the balcony and said, "what'd dat *** espect me to do?".
It was really a riot(before the actual riots) to be over there and we all got along fine.
