Don't know her politics, but she was a great singer, dancer, and had GREAT legs!
Ike was a *** who beat on her. Typical.

each one unique in what they brought... she wasn't my favorite-  but very sad. we are losing then all!

I don't know...I wasn't there....was he ever convicted of it ?

In his early days when Bob Dylan spoke to reporters alot...he would say off the wall stuff to stupid questions.  He told one reporter he ran away and joined a carnival when he was like 14.  It didn't take long for bottom feeding writers who didn't like him...claim he said it in all seriousness and was trying to build a false persona about himself and become as famous as the Trump pee tape and Ozzie's bat.

BTW: I heard some of thier early music and it was great. Ike was one of those roots of R-N-R !

Loud, big mouth, played to her fans. Big deal.

I liked Sly and The Family Stone . . . sometimes. ;)

I am always against obituaries and tributes elevating the dead to near-sainthood.
Advertising only the good "Her smile would light up the room" schmaltzy **** is common.

Please feel free to dance on my grave or piss in the swamp where it is surmised I was dumped.

She was a good singer and put on a terrific show. She performed into her late 70's and lived a peaceful life in Europe.
She didn't stay with Ike for long. and she proved she didn't need him. His career pretty much ended when she left him.

Credence did Proud Mary the best. Tina was just OK. She was not on my favorites list. Many people liked her though.

I liked almost all of the black singers in the 60's and 70's, although I didn't care for many of their lifestyles or politics. If I used that to determine what music or movies I enjoyed, there wouldn't be much entertainment left for me to enjoy. Take Sean Penn. I absolutely hate the person, but think he is a tremendous actor. Same with Robert DeNiro. I'd love to kick his ***, along with Johnny Depp...but I think they are great entertainers.

You are right. She was "good."
Ike ***-throttled her though. She took beating for quite some time, but not as long as fat white women take a *** beating.
