Putin has consistently claimed his invasion of Ukraine is a "special military operation" with limited objectives. With Crimea secure, the Donbas represents a vital "buffer zone" between Russia and the potential eastern flank of NATO and remains a high priority for Putin.

As for the land bridge, although important, it is not vital for Russia as it would be difficult to defend. Besides, it probably provides a welcome distraction for Ukrainian military offensive action while Putin focuses on his primary objectives.

So, the scene is set for a summer of offensive action, with both sides focused on different objectives. By the end of the summer, both sides will be exhausted, short of ammunition, and in dire need of a break - the conditions for negotiation.

He has spent over a year going on FOX News saying the war will be over next week, and Russia is winning.  And the Ukrainians are still holding on.

parts that have pro russian people. so america is spending billions of dollars so ukraine can have territories that are pro russian. the war could end with a peace treaty but zeleksky said he won't agree until he gets crimea back. 

it is not about ukrainian farmland which americans believe or anything else other than crimea and territories that are on russia's border and most importantly pro  russia.

with america so far in debt there is no question what is the best solution for all involved, a peace treaty and then ukrainians can go back home to their cities.

This all comes down to which source anyone wants to put their faith in as to who is winning or losing this conflict.

One source says that Russia is kicking ***, while another says that their getting their asses kicked... and the numbers are all over the place.
