I never understood why Obama chose him as his mate. The two are completely different when it comes to values. Obama was a **** president...but that's on par with any dimocrat president. In 2008, Biden was seen as a centrist, so this was good to offset Obama's libness.

Biden was well connected in the War Complex.  Thats helped yugely.
