He had a lot of "jokes" like that. His longevity was his draw.

I like crude, in-your face, sometimes self-deprecating humor. Like Rodney Dangerfield. Also, monotoned, subtle humor. Jerry Seinfeld was a riot, but quite humorless and boring when off stage.Xavier_Onassis » 06 Jun 2023, 3:02 pm » wrote: ↑ Humor depends on many factors.
People who are dogmatic are not normally very funny.
George Carlin was one of the funniest guys around, and he sure as hell was neither dogmatic nor a conservative.
Woody Allen is also neither dogmatic nor conservative, and he also is a different kind of funny.
Mark Twain was very funny, and he could not stand either Theodore Roosevelt or William H. Jennings Brian, neither of who were funny.
The humor of all three of these men was that they recognized contradictions between what people believed and what they said and did.
I have not heard Elon Musk all that much, but what he said about unfunny people was not funny at all.
Perhaps Musk is a visionary. But a comedian he is not, so far as I can tell from these remarks
The truth is, liberals are mostly void of humor, angry, and just hate living. If there's nothing new to hate, they'll create something.

It's pretty hilarious what is happening to trump and MAGA right now.
But then again Musk being pictured holding bathroom fixtures like some second rate porcelain thief was pretty funny.
