giving up proving trump is innocent

hahahaha
Not guilty of the specific charges doesn't mean innocent. Means he was within the legal limitations and you are trying to get ethics into legal precedence socially.

The espionage battery of laws have no clause allowing their nullification through expedient compliance. You either broke them or you did not. Precedent set by Clinton's sock drawer applies to Trump's bathroom as well as Bidens garage.

Part of me hopes democrats succeed in jailing Trump over this and prevent him from running. Trumps name in the general election will drive democrats to the polls in record numbers. His prosecution will do the same for conservatives. If democrat dogs catch this mail truck then they will lose 2024 in a landslide.
expedience compliance is not the issue.  The statute says "failure to deliver on demand".  He did exactly that.

And if Trump were behind bars in a jumpsuit and America elected a sane, intelligent, moral Republican in 2024, it would not be my PREFERRED outcome, but I think it would have the chance to begin the healing we so desperately need.

If Trump goes to jail his protégé will be DeSantis. A younger and more true believing conservative than Trump. Less prone to gaffs and making needless headlines for indefensible remarks. I would prefer this to a second Trump term. Unlike Trump, DeSantis would get most of his agenda passed and with half the needless drama. Love Trump but he is a drama magnet.

For some odd reason ,the mid wits are laboring under the impression a republican can win an election now.
And just think,Smith isn't done with trump yet.
 Neither is Georgia.
Hell,E. Gene Carroll is suing him again and will win again.
As for the rest of them the supreme court **** them with their latest rulings.
They've lost young people, women, gays and minorities. The only voters they have left are the angry old white men like the mid wit conservatives here.

I have no predictions. The result of preventing Trump from running is pretty evident. His name off the ticket would remove urgency from the democrats and greatly energize conservatives and independent voters.

IMHO, it might give independents a new reason to vote, but not necessarily a new reason to vote for an iconoclastic, anti-abortion, anti-LBGTQ guy like DeSantis.  If Republicans could talk someone like Hogan from Maryland to run, HE would certainly attract a lot of independents.  DeSantis, not so much.

I didn't "get off".  The DA dropped the charges.  And my daughter, the DDA,  was about 7 at the time.

if Mister Honeypot wants a shot at Joe, have him wait patiently until January of 2029.  The DoJ has a policy to NEVER indict sitting presidents.  That's why Bobby Three Sticks stayed his hand.

The general public is growing weary of identity politics. Gays got their marriage, they will not get forced celebration. Trans will not get their forced pronouns or free access to indoctrinate children. Black criminals will only engender so much compassion. Wacky progressive ideas have grown boring.

desantis might have a chance if he did not have a 6 week ban for abortion after 6 weeks. otherwise he might get some dem votes sick of biden's agenda of boys on girls teams and what ever the alphabet soup people want.

Abortion laws are back to the states control where it always should have been. I don't foresee DeSantis running on a national 6 week ban, he will leave the specifics up to the states.

Beware...rolling them back has its downside.  Just look at 2022 and the red tsunami that Hobbs made disappear.

the beauty of a corrupted mind is they will not think beyond what they believe true and always resist finding actual results than change their mind staying in a narrative they learned since dawn of civilization. Look I included your previous generation gaps, not your generations you added your chromosomes into.
