Using the the justice department to go after political enemies and then use the constitution to bar them from running from office is a pretty cynical tactic. If you don't care about one aspect of the justice system, why should we take you serious when you  try to use the constitution to justify your position?

I care about all aspects of the justice system, and I took an oath to support and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.  IMHO, the clown and his gang of MAGA insurrectionists fit that description.

            Can you tell us how many January 6th Protesters have been charged or found Guilty of Insurrection?.... Unless I missed an update on those figures, the latest count still hovers around zero...

Trump did actually have a plan to appoint his own electors to the Electoral College and give himself a second term. So I would say that Maineman is entirely right. Trump should be disqualified.

          The reason no one has been charged with insurrection is 2-fold... 
     1.  No one was guilty of such... and 2, because it it is rarely a charge which is used and difficult to prove... 

          So if you want to see some better examples of sedition, look no further than the Elected Democrats and Hollywood celebrities who did exactly such when Trump was elected...

If Trump is guilty of insurrection then so are hundreds of democrats who supported the blm love riots. Good trade, Trump for hundreds of democrats at the State and federal level.

Democrats who supported the protests against police violence against blacks in America were not attempting to overthrow the constitutionally installed government of Donald Trump and replace it with a Democratic dictatorship.  They were angry at what they viewed as violent police overreach.  

It is silly to compare their support of civil disobedience that, undoubtedly - and unfortunately -  frequently morphed into less than civil behavior - but still was never about reversing the results of an election and unconstitutionally upsetting the established order - with a concerted effort to do exactly that.

I'd love to know how you got inside the heads of the prosecutors who brought the charges against the Oath Keepers and the Proud Boys.  You seem to know their rationale but I have never seen any links that would support your version.  Do tell!
