Canadians is a code word for ***... lol.. what do they do when they get real Canadians as customers?Skans » 15 Jun 2023, 11:15 am » wrote: ↑ Yep. I heard that. F- Cracker Barrel. Besides, Cracker Barrel is racist and encourages white Crackers to whip black slaves. Plus, their staff uses a code name for "***", by calling them "Canadians". Around my parts we call 'em "Irish". There aren't any Canadians around here, so that doesn't work.Jantje_Smit » 16 Jun 2023, 4:32 am » wrote: ↑ Canadians is a code word for ***... lol.. what do they do when they get real Canadians as customers?

There is nothing fascistic about this. It is about companies seeking to please the public and the stockholders in some way unconnected with the products and services they supply.RedheadedStranger » 15 Jun 2023, 2:21 pm » wrote: ↑ The pride **** has nothing to do with research and marketing but is all about maintaining an acceptable ESG score so the financial sector will keep working with you.
This is basically social fascism.
Well, since there are a bunch of Crackerbarrels in the south, I WANT MY CONFEDERATE FLAG DRAPED ACROSS ALL OF THE TABLES!!!Xavier_Onassis » 16 Jun 2023, 9:55 am » wrote: ↑ There is nothing fascistic about this. It is the positive side of what the right wing homophobes are doing over Bud Lite, which is done for a NEGATIVE outcome.
What would a true fascist action be? The government requiring people to eat at Cracker Barrel or to buy Bud Lite. claiming that they are freinds or enemies of the state.
Just not enough *** to support them. I suppose someone associated with GLAAD tried to convince them that if they put out gay flags everywhere, gay people will come in and spend money. Looks like the opposite is true now.impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 10:49 am » wrote: ↑ They must not be doing too well. There used to be 7 locations in NV (4 in Las Vegas, 2 Reno and 1 Elko). Down to 3 in LV and they have changed ownership multiple times in the past few years. There were two that I know of in the Boise metro area and saw in the news that both were closing.

Any business that caves to the pressure of fringe groups trying to get them to take up a cause, other than the specific cause the business was designed to do, is going to flounder.
Could be. Probably bad management. They didn't timely increase the wages for those that work for them during Covid. So, better restaurant managers picked off the better staff. Gay flags aren't going to save them.impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 11:10 am » wrote: ↑ Well, I just looked and the 4 closures (2 in reno, 1 in Las Vegas, and 1 in Elko) were from January 2019 to October 2021 so there a few years before this. the other 3 currently in operation changed ownership in January 2022 and then again in March 2023. This tells me that there are other reasons

I explain it one of two ways:impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 11:17 am » wrote: ↑ It is interesting why Cracker Barrel which is synonymous with old fashioned, Conservative, and the South would do this. Starbucks, Jack in the Box, JC Penney.. makes some sense but not Cracker Barrel.
last item about the NV Locations, the revenues at those now-closed locations declined but nothing all that bad. Therefore it tells me that it was a lack of staffing. I worked in restaurants in my teenage years and vowed to do all in my power to never work in them again. I can understand why folks who have any other option avoid those jobs.+
Hey, some people know how to thrive at those jobs. But, here's the thing. There are smart restaurant owners and frugal ones. A smart restaurant owners will see an economic headwind coming and they will adjust before others adjust. For example, when Covid was happening and free money was being given out, the frugal restaurant owners furloughed workers and were stingy with wages and bonuses. However, a smart owner of a successful restaurant increased wages and guaranteed job security to his employees. This bought him loyalty and allowed his Manager to keep the restaurant well staffed and running. Yes, he had to raise his prices, but the quality of service never dropped and he actually gained market share because of it. Furthermore, he never had a problem staffing any of his restaurants.last item about the NV Locations, the revenues at those now-closed locations declined but nothing all that bad. Your explanation is better than anything I can offer. I have never actually eaten at a Cracker Barrel. It is nothing political or such. Grew up in Boise and there was not one in town until 2003 or so. Just seemingly never found my way to one.Skans » 16 Jun 2023, 11:20 am » wrote: ↑ I explain it one of two ways:

I have eaten there occasionally, and actually preferred it to Bob Evans. F-it. Back to Bob Evans.impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 11:23 am » wrote: ↑ Your explanation is better than anything I can offer. I have never actually eaten at a Cracker Barrel. A lot of restaurants closed during that period due to government mandates and associated hysteria.impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 11:10 am » wrote: ↑ Well, I just looked and the 4 closures (2 in reno, 1 in Las Vegas, and 1 in Elko) were from January 2019 to October 2021 so there a few years before this. the other 3 currently in operation changed ownership in January 2022 and then again in March 2023. The point was that these closures were not due to gay flags... these closures predate the gay flag stunt by 2+ years. Interesting how you breeze over that. I had fun dealing with someone like you yesterday. He was convinced that his weekly benefits were being cut short because he was a Trump supporter and when I asked him why he only worked 450 hours in a year.. he stuttered and said that it was not relevant. He knows it is purely a numbers game but could not put his bias away... just like you.RebelGator » 16 Jun 2023, 12:05 pm » wrote: ↑ A lot of restaurants closed during that period due to government mandates and associated hysteria.
I hope I haven't traumatized you by responding, your pal, Reb.
