I celebrate their whole catalogue since 1998. For me only better are Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead - in that time frame.Mrkelly » 16 Jun 2023, 12:24 pm » wrote: ↑ Never heard of them ... they kick ***

Their 2021 album.... QOTSA and Iggy Pop.....DREAMY!!!!! Album: Post Pop Depression
Great bands, Tool especially.Mrkelly » 16 Jun 2023, 12:40 pm » wrote: ↑ I've been stuck in the 60s and 70s
but I really liked "Tool" and "nine Inch Nails" a lot
Iggy pop.. I find that folks either love his music or hate it. I am in the former. 3 of his last four albums; Every Loser, Post Pop Depression, and Apres.. rock solid stuff. Folks may not dig the instrumentation but you can't say that he minces words. He says what he has to say and that's that.Sumela » 16 Jun 2023, 12:31 pm » wrote: ↑ I celebrate their whole catalogue since 1998. I like almost everything he has ever done. Post Pop Depression with QOTSA is so much fun.impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 12:52 pm » wrote: ↑ Iggy pop.. Thats the kind of country I like, plus old country. I cannot stand the pop-rock country.PhiloBeddo » 16 Jun 2023, 12:52 pm » wrote: ↑ Lately i've been into some country. You have to check out, The Cadilac three, Blackberry smoke and Whiskey Meyers.

I would put Iggy Pop and/or The Stooges in a top 10 list of the best and most influential. There is an awful lot of music made since 1975 that tries to emulate what he does. Regardless of time or genre.. a lot of artists try to replicate his mix of intensity and fun-loving.Sumela » 16 Jun 2023, 1:09 pm » wrote: ↑ I like almost everything he has ever done. And with the Stooges - I Am A Passenger....I Wanna Be Your Dog. He is an all time great in my book.
Agreed. I also listened 2x today. I was curious and read some reviews, which I only do AFTERimpartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 3:15 pm » wrote: ↑ I would put Iggy Pop and/or The Stooges in a top 10 list of the best and most influential. Just finished listening to the new QOTSA twice through. What a return to form. This sounds like a sequel to Era Vulgaris.

I listen to an album and have my own opinion.
Some critics love it - some hate it.....? I guess most albums are like that.
I feel that. Ive not been to a big show since Wilco 6-7 years ago in Dallas.impartialobserver » 16 Jun 2023, 3:47 pm » wrote: ↑ If my concert budget was not destroyed already.. i would find a way to see them live again. Last time was in January 2009.... feeling very old all of a sudden.
