People are paid based on what their job skills (or lack of ) are worth to an employer in the market place --- not on lifestyle choices or the fact they consume oxygen and are therefore entitled.

There is an obvious problem of income disparity in this nation. Most of it is among less educated Republicans. By far, it’s Republicans who labor at low paying jobs in Red States. What should the government do?
The only long term remedy is public education, which lifts all boats.
But millions of Trump supporters would get a raise if the minimum wage was gradually, over a period of years, raised to $15 an hour.
The longer we wait, the more pain it will cause.

Missouri has a $12 minimum wage, and all the people that got a little raise were against it.
Fifty years ago when I was taught in that same school, that the ideal minimum wage was 40% to 60% of the average wage, even the school janitor lived in a nice home across the street.
