We already have waiting periods, age requirements and background checks. Gun show laws depend on the state.maineman » 27 Jun 2023, 1:48 pm » wrote: ↑ I think common sense gun control measures, such as waiting periods, age requirements, red-flag laws, gun show loophole elimination, and universal background checks make sense but I would NEVER support banning guns.
That is a family issue. You can't bubble wrap the world. That little kid didn't kill his mom and baby brother because of a push to control guns, he did so because his criminally stupid father left a loaded handgun in the drawer of his nightstand and not under lock and key. I hope the father goes to prison for a long long time.

His OP clearly implicates maga and 2a supporters. He insists it doesn't - but cannot explain why he tagged them.
His thread title clearly implies its opposite - that GUNS are the evil, that GUNS kill people. Then he wheedles that he owns some guns, so his words don't matter.
He's a panty wearing little fruitcake who thinks sexually grooming children is okay. Expecting his **** to hold together is a big stretch.
well then, I guess the problem is all solved.RayJJohnson » 27 Jun 2023, 2:34 pm » wrote: ↑ We already have waiting periods, age requirements and background checks. Gun show laws depend on the state.

Like Don Draper in Mad Men!
You pointed out things you said were "common sense" gun laws. I said those were already laws and you gave up on that part of your argument to talk about mass shootings. Doesn't that kind of go to show those laws don't stop gun violence?maineman » 27 Jun 2023, 2:49 pm » wrote: ↑ well then, I guess the problem is all solved.
moving right along....
263 mass shootings in America in the first 150 days of 2023...but, heck... like you say, you can't bubble-wrap the world!![]()
America leads the world this year in mass shootings! At least we're number one in SOMETHING!
Who said America isn't great already????
You think there are already universal background checks? You don't think it might make some sense to RAISE the age when young men in the midst of testosterone storms can buy high-capacity assault rifles? You actually think that there red flag laws across the country? In fact, only 18 states have them. Just eight states have waiting periods.RayJJohnson » 27 Jun 2023, 3:20 pm » wrote: ↑ You pointed out things you said were "common sense" gun laws. The criteria for mass shootings is bogus. It is 3 or more people. That is used to hype up mass shootings to make people thing we actually had 263 Sandy Hooks this years. The biggest portion of guns being used in killing is suicide. Right behind that is gang on gang gun violence. You can have gang violence where you 3 or more are shot at a time. This also accounts for a lot of the "mass" shootings.
The issue really is mental health and a lack of family structure in inner city neighborhoods. More gun laws will not solve these problems.
I didn't say anything about universal background checks. I said we already have background checks. Universal background checks wont do one thing to stop any gun violence and it isn't designed to. It is designed to make a federal list of everyone who has a gun, so the government can keep track of you and your gun. **** THAT! You don't need to know I have a gun. It isn't any of your damn business and every country that has this crap law, has had their guns taken away.
Why do we need to raise the age? The issue isn't the age of the killers but the mental state. You don't think it might make some sense to RAISE the age when young men in the midst of testosterone storms can buy high-capacity assault rifles?
I didn't comment on red flag laws. I don't want them either. You actually think that there red flag laws across the country? In fact, only 18 states have them. Just eight states have waiting periods.
What the hell are you talking about? But **** all that and let's just put it on the inner city neighborhoods. if only those animals would just stay in the ghetto and kill each other off. But no...they have to come out to the suburbs into OUR schools and OUR theaters and OUR supermarkets. What to do? What to do?
you were? What were you called there?RayJJohnson » 27 Jun 2023, 2:36 pm » wrote: ↑ I know all about him. I used to be over at liberalforum. org too.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, that second question is hysterical. A person chooses their own screen name, and your question project it was assigned by consensus.
