A purely merit based admission system would dramatically increase the number of whites admitted...especially poor whites. Asians Would likely decrease among the student body.
Anyone that’s been to college in the last fifty years knows just how incredibly intelligent Asians are.
When I was in college in the seventies 100% of the chemistry and biology teaching assistants were Asian.
But in a wider sense what does it matter, to MAGA?
None of them are going to Harvard, John’s Hopkins or Columbia anyway.

Here’s the issue I’ve had all my life with affirmative action.
Let’s say a child dreams of being a doctor.
The best med school in the world is John’s Hopkins.
No matter what his or her race is, to get into John’s Hopkins means 4.0+ test scores and genius level IQ.
It’s not right to put black kids in and eliminate another kid, with higher scores.
But that also applies to white kids. If an Asian kid scores higher, shouldn’t he be picked first?

and as far as nuclear weapons go...Germany easily could have built it first. They had the best nuclear scientists on earth. Hitler simply refused to build it. He felt that a weapon capable of that much destruction should never be created and worried it could destroy all of advanced civilization

Yes, it’s true white men (especially Yankee white men from New England) contributed greatly to the advancement of America, and one of those advancements was John’s Hopkins in Baltimore Maryland, not New England, but not really Southern either.
Today the next technological change in our lives, will be in a few years we’ll all have electric cars,,,because we’ll want them the same as we want smart phones and personal computers.
I could care less what color or race or religion or gender engineer designs my first electric car but I do want an American, electric car.
They’ll be heavy with MIT graduates, whoever does perfect the electric car.

Even as a child, I can remember little gasoline motors for sake to motorize a bike. There have been mopeds for sale, all my life.
Not only did scientists develop really good batteries to power a practical and affordable electric bike, other engineers made tooling to manufacture a whole lot of them.
Before long there will be electric Harleys.
This is why I’ve never supported affirmative action, as it was practiced.
Somebody will perfect nuclear fusion to power all the electric cars and trucks and bikes.
The only thing that matters to science is results.

They lost the women vote because they outlawed abortion.
They lost young people because they won't fight global warming.
Now they're losing the minority votes.
Republicans are so stupid and it's very apparent to everyone.
I can't wait to watch the GOP burn itself to the ground in the next year and a half.
They'll never regain power now and that's a good thing.

Those with a racist view of lowered expectations for blacks would never vote republican. Not a single vote will be lost for this decision. Constant promotion of LatinX, anti small business legislation, abortion until birth, and open border policies have cost democrats millions of Hispanic votes. This decision will not change that in the slightest. Hispanics are inclined to be conservative and are shifting that way in droves.
