Recall, Imgreatagain asked about the best way to invest money.  She explained she came into an inheritance.  Several, myself included, chimed in to discuss what might be good ways to invest an inheritance.   Other than possibly the "buying a Porsche" comment, which I took as a joke, I didn't see any smug arrogance in anything IMG, myself or others posted.  Did I miss something?
I wasn't accusing anyone in this thread.
Sorry if it seemed that way.

There have been people in my life that are exactly like that.
Basically assuming that everyone has those easy resources is what annoys me.
For me to inherit anything of significance, about 30 people have to die...

Thanks for the clarification.

Here's how I see it, when it comes to inheritance.  Someone, who is no longer on this earth, worked hard for what they had and were able to leave to their child/children. They would be hopeful that their child or children would be responsible with what they left them.

When a child inherits some amount of wealth, and asks for advise on what to do with the remnants of their parent's life work, this deserve a thoughtful straight forward answer.  Because, to squander another person's lifetime of hard work which has been entrusted to their child is disrespectful.

Some stocks are gambling, many are not. Real Estate is problematic, because the customer base varies hugely with the interest rates.
When interest rates are high, there are many fewer people who can pay for both the principle and interest.

Flipping houses can be profitable, but you need to either be good a evaluating property or know someone who is.
Buy ETF's and Mutual Funds and you can do this and pay no commissions. When you want to sell, you can do so and have cash in hard in four days tops. You cannot expect to sell property so fast.
No ETF, stock or Mutual Fund will ever call you at 3 AM and tell you its daughter flushed a hairbrush and the toilet's overflowing.

...and yet people do that all the time.

Idle rich people are generally out of touch with employed people.
For good or bad, that is reality.
They have no time for the likes of me and the feeling is mutual.
That's inheritance in a nutshell for those really rich people.

Middle rich people complain that they had a "hard time selling" Dad's 100 acre farm.
Bruh - THER...   I recently had breakfast with a guy like that.
"Gee whiz my back hurts because of the piles of money I have to move..."  ;)

I see this thread as you said "asking advice".
Not as a complaint just to be able to brag (smug arrogance) like my breakfast "buddy".
They give rich people a bad name.
