True that. But I will, however, shoot dogs in a pack with bloodlust if I catch them at it. Once they start, they won't stop. I saw four dogs tearing apart a deer they had run down to exhaustion, while it was still alive. I didn't have my gun, unfortunately. I chased them off with rocks, had the warden come, and he dispatched the deer. If my dog began running with a pack doing the same, I'd put her down.

I blame the dick suckers who drop dogs in the country instead of at the pound.

If I’d been in charge you’d use the right rest room or get a ticket.  Girls sports would be for girls born girls.  I don’t agree with exposing children to drag Queen story hour any more than I’d allow them strippers to read them children’s stories.

But those issues are diversions.

In the sixties and seventies, a surplus M-1 carbine was cheaper than a brand new Winchester 94 or Marlin 336.

A school shooter, could have used an M1 Carbine to kill a lot of little kids, or shoot up a mall or church.  A lever action thirty thirty, would have worked almost as well.


But it didn’t happen, not even approaching the scale of today’s headlines.

I have some theories why

The primary reason for a firearms purchase then, was not self defense, but because guns are clean, wholesome fun, toys for adults.

Glock type pistols and AK and Armalite rifles simply were not commonly available 

Good guys don’t abuse the right to be armed.  

A kid who is a loner, a misfit, and who can’t get laid (there have always been those kids) does not believe in heaven for the righteous and hell for the wicked.

He sees on television how, to have his fifteen minutes of fame 

He buys a gun that didn’t exist when I was a kid, and he commits suicide (or dies in prison) taking out lots of others, with him.

To limit this, and you’ll never eliminate it, 

You can see to it every kid grows up, loved and wanted, with a good set of parents in a good Christian home.

That is utterly impossible.

Or reserve military weapons for the military and police pistols for the police.

That is possible.

I grew up a gun nut, under such conditions.

I can remember the one time it’s ever happened to me 

I was 18, and on my Senior Trip to Texas in 1976 Texas allowed 3.2% beer sales to 18 year olds.

There was a bar, beside the hotel we stayed the first night in Texas, and I snuck over there, and had my first taste of Lone Star.

This older man, came over to me, and struck up a conversation.  Then, he put his hand near my crotch.

I was not then, a fat old gray haired man.  In 1976 I could haul a thousand bales of hay a day with my hay crew, and drive posts all day building fence, and my hair was brown and wavy.

I hit that man in the jaw, without even thinking, as hard as I could, so hard it might have knocked me out today if not killed me.

And he just stood there.  He was not in the slightest hurt.  I was afraid I’d die in that Texas bar, and how would my mother and girlfriend take the news? 

And when I looked around for an exit, I could tell I was the only guy in that bar that liked girls.  

Then he saw my shirt that read 

TIGERS

And he asked, what are you doing in here?

And I said I’m on my Senior Trip from Missouri and wanted a Lone Star beer, and I’ll leave if you’ll let me 

His gay buddies started to kid him and give him unmerciful ****, and he smiled and said you’d best find another bar, boy.

The Texas sun never shone on anybody more grateful to see it.

And I too think that paying one's debt to society ought to mean just that.  Do your sentence and then step back into society with all rights and privileges.  Guns, voting, the whole enchilada.  I believe that MAGA's view felons as a bit less than human, kinda like they do blacks and gays, so denying THEM their 2A rights is not the same as denying those same rights to solid, flag wavin' 'Muricans.

I would counter that it is the exception that proves the rule.  The ONLY time 2A gun nuts are willing to curtail a gun right is if it's taking it away from felons... and we all know what color most of THEM are! 

I don't hate guns.  I own guns.  I will admit that I do not get an erection when I clean them or target shoot with them, and I don't have erotic dreams about them at night, but I certainly don't HATE them.

I simply dislike 2A absolutists and their "shall not be infringed" mantra.  I dislike them every bit as much as I do anti-abortion absolutists who believe that life begins at conception and don't give a **** about the health of the mother or whether she was raped or whether her fetus has a snowball's chance of surviving outside the womb.
