None of those bothered me. I had never heard the phrase cultural appropriation back in Peter O'Tool's day - and I haven't paid any attention to Depp in a minute. 

Things have changed a tad since 1962, though. For examle, white folks were admired back then and are reviled now. Society is paying much closer attention to these issues now, and I try to stay up with the times.

Besides, I don't view whites portraying the lesser races as a big deal. That's more noblesse oblige than cultural appropriation. Most any historical figger "of color" would likely have been delighted to know that some day they would be portrayed by a white person.

There’s a Barbie movie and now this Snow White movie coming out.

No dude in the world will go see those movies with his buddies or ever rent one.

Back about twenty and some years ago my wife and I went to a steam engine show in Kansas.

There was a little girl there, and her mother took her up to my wife, and the little girl asked my wife if she was a movie star. My wife had the little girl touch her hair.

And said I wish I had as pretty of hair as you. See how thin it is?

It’s not all curly and beautiful like yours.

       Mika probably has my Vote as well.... But you can see I wanted to be inclusive and practice diversity ----- I felt the need to include a Black female candidate for Evil Queen, and it came down to Sunny Hostin or Donna Lemon
