He’s not that dishonest, as politicians go.

I filled up my tank for $2.79 a gallon tonight.

My wife bought more eggs than we’ll eat for a dollar a dozen.

Milk is $3 a gallon.

Buy Biden some diapers, and his son another laptop.

I kind of like normal, you know?

Where is gas 2,79 a gallon?
Near Joplin.

The two lowest priced places in the United States for gasoline are at the Southwest and Southeast corners of Missouri.  That was true when gas was twenty some cents as it is true today.

There are pipelines across the Mississippi and also on the Oklahoma border.

Missouri has the lowest gas tax in the nation.  The gas station owners in those places sell gas sometimes below cost to drivers who cross the Memphis bridge or take I-44 from Oklahoma.

They’ll have little gas wars by the hour.  Now they use electronic signs, years ago they had employees stationed under the price signs, looking across the street at the competition.

You could almost walk across the top of semis on I-44, most of them with signs that read DRIVER’S  WANTED

There are miles of factories in Springfield, both sides of I-44.

Hiring at $17-$20 an hour.

It’s turning solid blue.

MAGA can’t stand prosperity and education.

Springfield is also a college town.

He's stumping for Biden so he has no choice but to lie. Our three gas stations in town are all at $3.60 for regular

I was near Joplin

Which is in the south west corner of Missouri

Doniphan is maybe 200 some miles East, in the SE corner.

A similar thing happens at Hannibal Missouri, across from Illinois.

There is a pipeline, and it’s next to another state, and there’s bucko gas stations.

Missouri gas prices in those places are usually forty to fifty cents less than the interior of the state.

The MAGA thinks it’s a conspiracy.  His grandfather thought it was a conspiracy.

Christians only, are curious. We ask the manager why.

It’s because out of state gas buyers have no loyalty. They drive out of state to buy gas, for only one reason.

The people that drive a long ways, across state lines to buy gas also buy a **** of other stuff.

Those stations selling gas under cost also will be stacked high with liquor and cigarettes and chew.

To fill up my Chrysler cost a whopping $29, just over ten gallons.

At home it’s forty cents more, so I saved less than five bucks.

They had Swisher Sweet cigars for $2.99 a package, too.

Try finding those for less.

Here is why it’s normal.

When I was a little kid, 60 years ago, my Daddy would buy gas all the time for 22 cents, 23 cents, 21 cents, maybe as high as 24 cents.

And I was a curious little **** and I’d ask why the gas price signs had 23 point 9, why the point 9?

And Daddy would grin and say, go ask Mama, she’ll explain it better.

I’d get the chance to help Mama by fetching her World Books.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mill_(currency)

So early on I knew gas prices ended in mills for the same reason a lot of stores advertised 49 cents a pound chicken and pork. It sounds cheaper than the next price unit.

Gasoline averaged about 23.9 cents a gallon in 1963.

That’s $2.39.9 a gallon today.

But our 1960 Ford got 10 miles per gallon on a good day on a smooth road with a tailwind.

My Chrysler gets 27 mpg at 75 miles an hour, easy.

I’m paying less money for gas than my Daddy did 60 years ago.

And that is almost entirely due to Biden’s drill for oil in Alaska or in the Gulf or anywhere policy.

—-The Biden administration gave formal approval Monday for a huge oil drilling project in Alaska known as Willow, despite widespread opposition because of its likely environmental and climate impacts.
The president is also expected to announce sweeping restrictions on offshore oil leasing in the Arctic Ocean and across Alaska’s North Slope in an apparent effort to temper criticism over the Willow decision and, as one administration official put it, to form a “firewall” to limit future oil leases in the region. The Interior Department said it would issue new rules to block oil and gas leases on more than 13 million of the 23 million acres that form the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. The drilling project would take place inside the petroleum reserve, which is located about 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle. The reserve, which has no roads, is the country’s largest single expanse of pristine land.
The restrictions, however, are unlikely to offset concerns that the $8 billion Willow project, led by oil giant ConocoPhillips, will have the potential to produce more than 600 million barrels of crude over 30 years./-/

Those caribou, had better start running.

Uncle Joe is for cheap gas.

Wanna show us that?

People from Oklahoma comes to Missouri to buy gas?
Gas prices are lower in Ok and the gas tax is lower...

200 miles is close?
Really?
So you live in Joplin and drive 200 miles to fill up your car.
Are you well?
Are you dopelooknow?
I live way over a hundred miles inside Missouri from Doniphan, Hannibal, or Joplin.

I’d be a fool to drive any of the cheapest places in Missouri for gas.

But if I’m near any of those places, they’ll have truck stops lined up maybe four or five  in sight of each other.

You can watch the gas prices change on one sign, then today it’s less than a minute and another matches.

When I was a kid the signs had permanent ladders, men posted, it’s cool as hell.

I was curious where the cheapest gas in Oklahoma was.

It’s at Norman, dead middle of the state.

Image Image Image

That makes sense.

It’s one gallon away from Oklahoma City.

—-

Norman (/ˈnɔːrmən/) is the third-most populous city in the U.S. state of Oklahoma, with a population of 128,026 as of the 2020 census.[5] It is the most populous city and the county seat of Cleveland County and the second-most populous city in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area after the state capital, Oklahoma City, 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of Norman.

18 gallons.

Range of 400 plus miles, safely.  I’d ran well over 250 miles before I filled up.

The pump numbers dropped from $2.82.9 to $2.79.9 as I waited in a line for gas.

I’d left my wallet in that truck stop the night before.

The clerk handed it back. Somebody had turned it in with nearly $300 cash still inside.

I drove there to fetch it.

I had bought a bum a cup of coffee and a sandwich, the night before.

It must have slipped from my pocket.  Place was full of the shadiest looking people you could imagine at 2 am.

Why did we go to Joplin, drive all that way?

—-
https://www.joplinmo.org/575/The-Spook-LightBobbing and bouncing along a dirt road in northeast Oklahoma is the Hornet Spook Light, a paranormal enigma for more than a century. Described most often as an orange ball of light, the orb travels from east to west along a four-mile gravel road, long called the Devil's Promenade by area locals. The Spook Light, often referred to as the Joplin Spook Light or the Tri-State Spook Light, is actually in Oklahoma near the small town of Quapaw. However, it is most often seen from the east, which is why it has been "attached” to the tiny hamlet of Hornet, Missouri, and the larger, better-known town of Joplin. According to the legend, the spook light was first seen by Indians along the infamous Trail of Tears in 1836; however, the first "official” report occurred in 1881 in a publication called the Ozark Spook Light.
—-

Vance Randolph used to visit my grandmother in Hermitage.

Vance Randolph was the patron saint of the Hornet Spook Light.

Take a really pretty girl, if you ever go.

There’s a spook light that will appear, on Road 50.

She’ll grab you and you can be really brave, even walk towards it as she trembles in fear.

Afterwards she’ll tell her friends what a hero she has for a sweetheart.Image

My wife asked me to take her again.  I just obliged her.

—-Directions to the Spook Light

From I-44 take exit 4 - Highway 86 South. Follow approximately six miles to junction Route BB. Turn right on BB Highway and follow the road until it ends. Turn right again, go one mile, turn left on E50 Road (also known as Spooklight Road). Approximately 1.5 to 2 miles is the darkest and best place to wait.

What is the Missouri tax rate on motor fuel?

Tax RatesThrough September 30, 2021October 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022Motor
Fuel
$0.17$0.195CNG/Propane/LNG$0.11$0.11——-

Gov. Mike Parson signed Senate Bill 262 into law, including the state's first motor fuel tax increase in 25 years. An increase of 2.5 cents went into effect in October, and the tax will increase by 2.5 cents each year until reaching a total of an additional 12.5 cents in 2025. A refund on this new increase is available for all individuals who apply for one. MoDOT has developed a high-priority unfunded needs list with regional planning partners in all regions of Missouri. The list serves as MoDOT’s guide as additional state or federal funding become available.  Additional funding generated from the tax increase will fund projects on this list.

My mother used to tell Mike Parsons that he was the only sheriff she’d ever taught that didn’t wear cowboy boots, tight blue jeans, a cowboy hat, and dark sunglasses and thought he was God’s gift to the young girls.

Mike is a decent man  good father, and devout Baptist.

But he runs with the worst low life MAGAS you can imagine.
