Aside from his work with Prostasia since 2021, Berlatsky has a long history with promoting the idea that children can consent to sex with adults. In 2016, he published a piece titled Child Sex Workers’ Biggest Threat: The Police with The New Republic. In the article, Berlatsky takes aim at the 2012 film Eden which is another drama centered around exposing the grim realities of child sex abuse. Throughout the piece, Berlatsky refers to youth in the sex trade in a lexicon that alienates them from the idea that they are victims of human trafficking with the suggestion that minors should be free to work in the sex trade. Though Berlatsky does make some salient points about how statutes enforced by different states treat victims of child trafficking as criminals, the vernacular in which the piece is written in emanates the tone of Prostasia's own written content in which it attempts to normalize sex between minors and adults.

If there was any doubt about where Berlatsky's sentiment truly lies, all one has to do is look at his social media history in which he speaks out against the stigmatization of pedophiles. A noted supporter of "trans-kids", Berlatsky's history of perverted tweets also takes aim at the relationship between parents and their children, a cornerstone of the transgender movement which seeks to obscure its brainwashing children into gender dysphoria with a cacophony of language designed by groomers. Of course, Berlatsky has made his Twitter private since the revelation of these pro-pedophilia tweets came to light. However, that action proved to be too little and come too late

Hollyweird has to take liberties when putting a novel to the screen. Understandable.
I was disappointed in the One Flew Over the Cuckoo Nest ending.
Would have been better to end it with a short scene depicting the book's epilogue.
Otherwise a great movie and Jack played the part well even thought the book's character did not match Nicholson's physical stature.
Two departures from the book; one easily dismissed, one was a small miss.

Two French films I recommend for those who like foreign:

One is noir - Rififi. Brilliant film, iconic, sets a record for longest scene in a movie with no dialogue.
The other is comedy - The closet. Brilliant satire - the hardest comic form and the most enjoyable in those rare cases when it is done right.

When I first responded to you, I had searched IMDB for it. I had googled it and duckduckgoed it.

Same time frame was a young girl superhero type.
I remember a floor she was on while doing battle kept losing pieces and she had to be agile.
Then again I was watching Santa Sangre type stuff too.

But from all accounts it’s a good low budget action movie Redbox will rent for $3 and sell for $5 in a few months.

It’s doing so well maybe half the audience are Democrats.

The entire premise of this thread is Brucie is down on Sound of Freedom and why do liberals hate Sound of Freedom.

Badlands cost $300,000 in 1973 to produce.  That’s about 2 million today.

It’s bloody and gory and shows a 15 year old girl being forced (sort of) by her  older boyfriend into murdering her parents and going on a crime spree.
 
Most college towns have little cinemas were Badlands runs more than once a year.

Whether it’s so bad, it’s good, or it’s just plain good, is debatable.   But it’s a killer thriller.

See it.  

It’s based loosely on a true story like Sound of Freedom was also based on a factual event.

It’s Caril Ann Fugate and  Charles Starkweather juiced up for the silver screen.

Caril was only 14 when the actual event happened.

Human trafficking has been around forever.

Sissy Spacek and Martin Sheen were no name actors in 1973 in Badlands.

Caril Fugate was a 14 year old child in 1958.

The promoters of Badlands used her tender years to promote the movie.
