Michigan's attorney general has announcedcharges against 16 people for serving as so-called fake electors following the 2020 presidential election.The electors signed documents falsely attesting that Donald Trump won the state in the election. Trump lost Michigan to Joe Biden. 
 The broader fake elector scheme is part of special counsel Jack Smith's ongoing federal investigation into Trump and the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6,

It is extremely doubtful Michigan wants to send any of those 16 fake electors to prison, unless they fail to cooperate.

These were middle class, well dressed, old school Republicans who listened to some hare brained MAGA scheme and then all met in secret and falsified documents.

Rudy Gulliani nearly had to give them marching orders.

These people look like your next door neighbor.

They ought to have known what they did was a felony under Michigan’s laws against voter fraud.

Barack Obama came close in 2008 to winning Missouri.

I was really disappointed. But if somebody had said I know a plan, let’s all go to the courthouse at midnight and dummy up false certificates that Obama won, and you and me get to be electors to go to Washington for Obama!

Whatever else he’s done or not done if he does lose next year he’ll accept the results and concede.  And, he’ll wish Trump the best and tell his supporters to support the constitution, and there will be more elections to come.

No doubt every one will get a chance to name who suggested they do such a horrible crime as faking certificates in a courthouse in the middle of the night, for Trump.
