The big lie behind modern Ukraine: Why does Kiev refuse to properly investigate the mysterious 2014 ‘Maidan massacre’?

For almost ten years officials have refused to find the culprits, despite plenty of eyewitness accounts and evidence

The active phase of hostilities in Ukraine has been going on for more than 500 days. During this time, tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people have died.

Meanwhile Western governments have spent billions to support the war, and an active discussion has begun in Russia about the possibility of using nuclear weapons.

Ivan Katchanovski, a Canadian researcher of Ukrainian origin, believes that the first domino in the sequence toppled almost ten years ago, when the mass protests that would become known as "EuroMaidan" broke out in the Ukrainian capital.

On one day in Kiev more than 100 people, including both protesters and police, were killed. The Ukrainian leadership, western politicians and media blamed the Berkut special police force, but many facts suggest that the protesters may have been shot by fellow oppositionists

In his article ‘The Maidan Massacre Trial and Investigation Revelations: Implications for the Ukraine-Russia War and Relations’, Katchanovski shows how the failure to properly investigate decade-old crimes has helped bring international relations to their current state.

1)  The WORLD ALREADY KNOWS that the Russian military is NOT what they they were THOUGHT to be !

2)  Head to head, with the BEST the Russians had... against an under manned and under armed Ukrainian Army, with OUTDATED Western arms... UKRAINE HAS FOUGHT Russia to a DRAW... or BETTER !

3)  Finland and Sweden who were NEUTRAL before... are NOW PART of NATO !

4)  MOST NATO countries (including Germany, Poland, Finland and Sweden)... have doubled their Military budgets because of the WAR, and Russia's hostile acts... and

5)  NATO will find a way to help Ukraine DESTROY the Crimean bridge... cut the land bridge to Crimea, and FORCE Crimea to surrender !  and THEN...

6)  Russia will be FORCED to accept a cease fire with small territorial gains... AND, Ukraine WILL JOIN NATO !

7)  The Russian economy is TOAST... and RUSSIA will be fighting civil wars across Russia for YEARS... and likely be dismembered from within !

Russia will NEVER AGAIN be the same... it WILL NEVER be what it was, NOR EVER be what it hoped to become !
RED items = DONE... PURPLE items = AS GOOD as DONE... and the other items are LIKELY to occur SOON !

Nicely stated, ConservativeWave!  I would take it one step further, and you are free to disagree - unlike totalitarian regimes, we allow disagreement among us, without forgetting our common purpose.  If we had leaders in the vein of Dick Cheney, Ronald Regan, John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson - we would force Russia to sell off a large part of Eastern Russia and make it a new American Territory.

The irony of social intellect triggered by instinctive awareness been dormant for decades. Social minds are numb, instinctive brain just navigates time mutually evolving forward following the paths of least resistance, like promising better tomorrows than generations sustained ancestries so far.

Repeating history by rule of law doesn't change the outcome of those never learning from history themselves.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The U.S. Army will boost production of 155mm artillery shells more than sixfold to 85,000 a month by fiscal 2028, according to the service’s undersecretary.

So currently the US makes ONLY 500 '155' shells per day

NO wonder Biden admits US/NATO is running out of ammo

Likely Ukraine will be broken up. Russia will take the south and east.

Poland the west. Uke will be left a rump state with no Black Sea access.

This will a huge failure for NATO

While this proved to be baseless, Americans were outraged. Indignant. Very much vexed. Ukraine survives today because we have paid hundreds of billions for weapons, equipment, and intel. We directly and unabashedly paid bounties to kill Russian soldiers. Nothing about this conflict is a win for America.
America gave Ukraine 20-30 year old hardware, much of it that would NEVER have been used by American soldiers, and gave it to a Ukrainian army that was considered 3rd world before the invasion... AND THEY have:

1)  Fought Russia to a standstill...
2)  Drained and depleted Russia Physically, Economically, and Militarily...
3)  Resulted in Finland and Sweden JOINING NATO...
4)  Resulted in MUCH of NATO including Germany, Poland and others DOUBLING their military budget...
5)  EXPOSED Russia, and their equipment as INEPT...
6)  Has put Russia on the VERGE of an ALL OUT Civil War WITHIN Russia ITSELF... and
7)  HAS NOT cost America ANY American "Military" lives !!

It would have been CHEAP at TWICE the price !!

Let’s talk strategy.

Russia invaded January 24, 2022.

Russia had already annexed the Crimea peninsula.  They have their Black Sea fleet at Sevastopol.

That fleet had access to blue water through nominally NATO Turkey, but who allowed the Dardanelles to be international waters.

Russia supplied Crimea by the Kerch bridge.

Russia invaded on two fronts.  The plan was the Northern Russian army would seize the capital Kyiv in a few days or a week, and the Eastern army would occupy already contested Eastern part of the Donbas.

The Northern Army was repelled and utterly routed.

But Russia still controls Crimea and most of the Donbas.

But the most unusual thing happened. Neither Ukraine nor Russia can operate ground attack aircraft.  All war planes seem to fly at over 30,000 feet.

The Russians have built a series of defensive trenches not seen since 1917.

And exactly like Germany in 1917 the entire free world is supplying an almost unlimited amount of superior weapons to Ukraine, who now has an army of over three times what they had on the first day of the war.

In the end Russia will feed hundreds of thousands of conscripts into a sheer hell of static warfare until they are gradually forced back.

And when the Ukrainians advance to within artillery range of the Kerch bridge, the Russian army in Crimea had better already have crossed over.

Ukraine will retake Crimea and join NATO the next day after hostilities end.

Generally Agree..

I agree that WE need better leaders running things at the top... BUT, even with one hand tied behind our back, and a President with the mental capacity of a chipmunk... Russia has STILL been dealt a DEVASTATING blow... and one that will have repercussions within Russia for YEARS !  I COMPLETELY believe that they are STILL closer to a Civil WAR WITHIN their borders, than they are to winning the war in Ukraine.

The MOST likely scenario over the next few years?

1)  Ukraine will FIGHT until they completely CUT the land bridge supply lines, and DESTROY the bridge that also supplies Crimea.  With THAT... they will slowly STRANGLE Russian resistance in Crimea, and take COMPLETE control of it.

2)  THEY will have to probably give up parts of what was eastern Ukraine... BUT, what remains will be the NEWEST member of NATO, and Nations like Poland, Romania, Germany and others will IMMEDIATELY enter Ukraine to NEGATE and future invasions... and will work to REBUILD their economy...

3)  Russia will DESTROY itself even further by internal Civil wars... with Belarus, Georgia, Chechnya, and other current Russian states... until it is a SHELL of it's current state !

RIP Russia !!

Losses in Ukraine are 'out of proportion' to what NATO has been planning for, the alliance's top general says.
"we underestimated Russia's artillery power"

---NATO leaders have been worried by the heavy Ukraine casualties and massive ammunition usage in Ukraine.

---"The scale of this war is out of proportion with all of our recent thinking," NATO's top general said in January.

There's no doubt, Russia picked a stupid fight with Ukraine. Crimea was easy pickings, and Putin thought "why not, let's grab some more".  He messed up.  Tens of thousands of Russian military men are dead.  Tens of thousands of military-aged men are fleeing Russia. The Russian people have no apatite for a war with Ukraine.

Russia is a weaken, wounded nation.  But, its also a nation that has survived in one form or another for over 1000 years. Sometimes gaining territory, sometimes losing it. The only way Russia will fall into civil war is 1) if those Russian men fighting in Ukraine are part of that initiative and 2) through an underground network set up by Russians who have fled the country who actually care about returning and 3) top-down involvement of leadership.
