I said No Betty, President Nixon resigned and now Vice President Gerald Ford is President.  

She said Really, when did that happen?  Why?

I said about four months ago in August, over the Watergate scandal.  They caught Nixon on tape covering up a burglary.

And me and my **** smart mouth, I said 

It was in all the newspapers at the time, Betty 

She pulled away and said 

I’ve been really busy cheerleading and you should have told me!  Why didn’t you tell me?

Then she started crying saying I was too smart to go out with her, and I assured her that wasn’t true, and two sixteen year olds quit discussing politics.

I didn’t explain who Nelson Rockefeller was that night, anyway. .

I did see an interveiw on Fox last night. 3 of the gen z. They were smart enough. The dumb ones hang out in times square.

Any group or demographic can display "smart ones".
Great advertising and cherry-picking at work.

The young-are-really-****-dumb notion comes from everyday interactions.
We have all seen, in real life, cashiers confused by making simple change.
We've seen the young without any social skills and complete lack of boundaries.
School scores plummet (while actually lowering standards).
The rise of helicopter parents because they cannot trust their kids to have any common sense.

The dumb ones are everywhere.

As a personal freedom? I support both. As something to be promoted, celebrated and taught to school children as normal? No. Feel the same about most self destructive lifestyle choices. We have many laws re: safety and order.
alcohol, drugs, seatbelts, motorcycle helmets, drivers license.

I understand your position fully, but Im starting to 
wonder if the West's moralist "freedom" leads to decline and decay and depravity
then of what good is it?
