Ronnie did not make any obscene calls for a few years after his narrow escape at Bolivar, when the police  had him cornered and because it was my mother, he got a pass.

But about 1981,  I was home from college and my mother said let’s go to Shady Nook, a cafe John and Louise owned.  Johnna Lue was at the cafe.On the way home, we drove by where Johnna Lue and Ronnie lived, his car was in the driveway.  It was still  daylight.

Mama said I’ll bet the phone will be ringing, when we get home.  Ronnie is making calls again.

Sure enough, the phone was ringing.  I had Mama answer it, and I listened to the heavy breathing pervert a while.

I finally said, if you call my mother again, every morning when you climb into your car you’d better check 300 yards away in all directions for the rest of your life.

Ronnie had been at the local range when I sighted in my rifle.

Mama and I had a good laugh.  I’d never have shot Ronnie.

But Ronnie knew I had dozen spots around his house, I could have.

If he called any other women he never called my mother again.

Story time

Probably about 1975, what ever year mood rings were a fad, my gorgeous mother was a school teacher at Bolivar.

She got a call one day on the district phone, and she came to the office.

It was an obscene caller, only breathing heavy.

The Superintendent saw Mama’s face and he mouthed

Keep him on the phone 

After a minute, my mother couldn’t stand jt

 She said Ronnie, the police are on the way to your phone 

Oh God, Ronnie, talk to me, now!!!

 Ronnie pipes right up, and said I’m in Bolivar looking for a mood ring for Johnna Lue, where can I buy one.

You could buy mood  rings at every gas station for two dollars that year.

Mama said try the local Walmart, and she said by then the police had Ronnie surrounded, at a phone booth.

John and Louise were my mother’s best friends. They had one daughter named Johnna Lue.

They had a Hunter Biden grade embarrassment of a son in law, named Ronnie, who made obscene phone calls.  It was a horrible embarrassment to a very good family.

The Superintendent saw my mother crying, and got on the phone to the police, and said it’s all just a misunderstanding.

Do not pretend to tell me that almost fifty years later, the Superintendent of a public school in California would not investigate a terroristic threat against a school board member.

Don’t take wooden nickels.

If the situation were reversed, and the tranny was the one being threatened, you wouldn't be making us **** stories in an effort to divert attention.

Why is it members of the FAW community feel the need to resort to violence (or threats of violence) when they don't get their way? 

Whomever originally said "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" never met a member of the FAW community who has been, even slightly, inconvenienced.

My father was the President of my school board from 1968 until he died in 1971.

The purpose of the board is to oversee the school district business, not hobble the teacher’s in the classrooms.

These global warmers, they howl how hot this summer is. But the summer of 67 was a hot son of a bitch, too.

We didn’t hardly know what air conditioning was.  We had to drive 45 miles to the theaters in Springfield, for air conditioning.

I was 9 years old that summer, and took a nap one afternoon and woke up and my Mama wasn’t home from college.

Daddy had started milking, and I asked him where Mama was, and he said she has finals tomorrow.  She’s over at the post pile, and she’ll be home when she’s studied for her tests.  Don’t you bother Mama, she needs to study.

It’s 530 yards, by my laser rangefinder, from the milk barn to the where that post pile was.

God damn it was hot.

I went in the house, and after about an hour I made myself some instant iced tea, not the good brewed kind Mama made.  And I made two quarts up in Mason jars, one for me, and one for my Mama.

And when I was done, I could not figure out a way to ride my bike and carry the tea, so I walked over to the post pile, and presented my Mama with the tea.

I surprised her.  She had all four doors of her car open, her books on the dash.

She lied and told me that was the sweetest tea she’d ever drank.

Then she hugged me so tight I though I might pop, and made me promise her, right there, that I’d go straight from high school to college and not stop until I got all the degrees I needed.

My Daddy died in 1971, so Mama never finished her Masters of Education degree.

When I hear some bastard make fun of a school teacher who has earned a Doctorate of Education while raising a family and her husband was a United State Senator I just want to puke, I’m so mad.
