That will only hurt the DNC.
He might draw many of the libs that are in the Dore, Grayzone, Gabbard, Abby Martin bracket.  Anti-Empire libs.

That **** has been played out ad-nauseum. Old news. When someone in a leadership position begins with the tough-guy, authoritarian role and says, "Hell yes, were going to take away your AK-47!"you have a leftist fanatic on your hands. No thanks. He's unstable. Might even be queer.

But his devotion to Israel is hard for me to take

been that way for a while

supporting Israel is not a small matter

and on twitter, one of my favorite journalists (Aaron Matte) gave it to him

Like Aaron said, “the Jews aren’t gonna vote for him, or young people “

I sure wish his campaign manager would get through to him

then I saw this from brother Cornel

No one familiar with Israel’s history—which involved mass expulsions in 1948 and 1967, and smaller expulsions ever since—can be sure that, if a full-scale war with the Palestinians erupted again, Smotrich and Ben-Gvir would not put their aspirations into practice. For years, polls have shown that large-scale ethnic cleaning enjoys significant popular support. At least two renowned Israeli historians, Tom Segev and Yehuda Bauer, have warned that it could happen. Another renowned Israeli historian, Benny Morris, has said he hopes it does. In his speech at J Street, Odeh recounted a conversation with the late Zeev Sternhell, Israel’s leading scholar of fascism, who wrote in 2019 that the demonization of Israel’s Palestinian citizens reminded him of the demonization of Jews at the beginning of the Nazi era. “Without democracy,” Sternhell warned, “it is not the failure, but rather the success of a minority that may trigger a deadly turn of events.” In the wake of Ben-Gvir and Smotrich’s election, Odeh echoed, “I fear we have already begun seeing another deadly turn of events.
”If such horrors transpired, would Blinken stop treating US aid and diplomatic protection as “sacrosanct”? It would be nice to think so. But the record doesn’t warrant such a view. It suggests that, when it comes to Israel, the Biden administration has no red lines, none at all.

WASHINGTON - Former Vice President Joe Biden said on Thursday that he strongly opposes calls by other Democratic presidential candidates to condition U.S. aid to Israel on steps to end the occupation in the West Bank.Biden told a Wall Street Journal reporter, who asked him about the subject, that calls to use aid to Israel as leverage are “absolutely outrageous.”In recent months, Senator Bernie Sanders, who is competing with Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination, has stated several times that he supports conditioning aid to Israel and using it as leverage to get the Israeli government to end the occupation. Sanders also suggested, in a speech before the J Street conference in Washington this week, that some of the aid given to Israel by the U.S., should in fact be used for improving the situation in Gaza.>> Read more: Military aid to Israel becomes new battleground in Democratic PartyOther Democratic candidates, such as Senator Elizabeth Warren, have not gone as far as Sanders, but have expressed openness to the idea. Pete Buttigieg, a young candidate who is currently the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, said that if Israel will annex parts of the West Bank, he will make sure that American aid money is not used to support such action.

laws about guns were passed in the 1800's
-----------------------------------------------

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/202 ... right.html

The reason that laws against specific types of weapons did not emerge until decades after the Second Amendment was written and similar state constitutional provisions were enacted was because America did not have a gun violence problem at the time of the Second Amendment. When the market revolution of the Jacksonian era made cheap, reliable, and easily concealed handguns widely available, states did pass laws regulating and, in some cases, banning these weapons. Although a few judges in the slave-owning South viewed these laws as impermissible violations of the right to keep and bear arms, many judges saw no problem with such laws. Indeed, even some of the Southern slave-owning judges most sympathetic to gun rights acknowledged that limits on carrying dangerous weapons in public were legitimate exercises of the state’s police powers. In contrast to the National Rifle Association’s view that guns are what makes us free, the generation that wrote the Second Amendment had an instrumental view of guns as tools that could be used for good or bad. The Second Amendment was not America’s first freedom; the right of the people to pass laws to promote public health and safety was America’s true first freedom. Judges in the early decades of the 19th century began to refashion this 18th century right into a new judicial doctrine, the police power. Understanding the meaning of this power and its centrality to Second Amendment jurisprudence is essential to recover the real original understanding of the right to keep and bear arms, not the historical caricature advanced by gun rights advocates.ADVERTISEMENTGun rights activists have adopted an absurd theory of the police power to support their libertarian fantasies. According to their view, the police power is like frequent flyer miles: If you don’t use it, you lose it. In a variety of cases gun rights activists have interpreted the absence of a law as evidence of the existence of a right. In fact, the absence of a law typically tells you almost nothing about rights. More often the lack of regulation only demonstrates that a problem did not exist and hence there was no legislative need to pass a law. In the License Cases (1847), the Supreme Court described the scope of the police power as follows:
[The police power] is not susceptible of an exact limitation but must be exercised under the changing exigencies of society. In the progress of population, of wealth, and of civilization, new and vicious indulgences spring up, which require restraints that can only be imposed by new legislative power. When this power shall be exerted, how far it shall be carried, and where it shall cease, must mainly depend upon the evil to be remedied.
 ------------------------------------------------

surely the ar 15 would have had at least more regulations back then than it does today.

it is as a dangerous weapon as it can be.

A buddy of mine was a big-time Sanders fan.... He still makes visits to his post-election therapist.

no doubt about it. the people in the wild west would think we are crazy to let just anyone have ar 15's, especially after all the mass shootings. they were about law and order back then.
