Putin  has been desperate for men to fight his war in Ukraine.  So, at Putin's behest, Russia's lower house voted to expanded its military conscription base after a vote to raise the upper age limit from 27 to 30.

This is expected to add 2.4 million men, many of whom are married, have children and jobs, to Russia’s forces and will prohibit conscripts from leaving the country.  Does this sound like Communist Russia when they would shoot their own citizens for trying to make it past the Berlin Wall?

Vladimir Putin was raised in Communist Russia; he served Communist Russia; he loved Communist Russia and he is determined to bring back dictatorial Communism for Russia.  Maybe Russian Women are sick of their drunk, useless, abusive husbands and want them killed off in Ukraine?  I don't know, maybe the resident Russian, @Sumela  can shed some light on this.

China is wealthy and has resources Russia needs.

• China has been allowing Russian Oligarchs launder their wealth and move it through Chinese banks to European and American banks since before Russia invaded Crimea.
• China has been supplying Russia with much needed food, resources and military equipment
• China receives much needed oil and gas from Russia

So, Russia is not without access to money or resources - its just substantially harder and longer for them to access these resources.

Where are the images of burning convoys?

This war has stepped back in time, to when aircraft were mainly for spotting the enemy.  Little drones fly around all over, sometimes we’ll see one drop one bomb.

Neither side will run out of artillery shells.

But ours out range the Russians.

Russia has lost 50,000 dead and 150,000 more in hospitals.  

Those new Russian conscripts will be fed into a scene of death and horror not seen since Verdun.

And the Ukies are out of range.

I have been reading "reports" that Russia is out of men and material for over a year now... yet they still seem to be in the fight.

I also keep reading "reports" that Ukraine has collapsed and is finished... yet they still seem to be in the fight as well.

Another big conflict is in the reports of casualties. One story says that hundreds of thousands of troops have been killed, while another says its only tens of thousands.

I seems to me that the only thing consistent here is the flow of propaganda from both sides of this ****.

Every time I see videos of the troops on either side, the seem to be laughing and having a good time... which isn't something you would really expect to see from a war zone.

There is no way for us to really know what the truth is.
