It basically came down to the fact that uneducated white people used to be Democrats, and rich, affluent, well-educated folks used to be Republicans, and now, that has basically shifted. The article went on to say that the attitudes on both sides about the opposition have become more strident and negative. It bodes ill for ever being able to recapture the sense of shared commitment and compromise that characterized American politics for the fact majority of our history.
I can look at a whole string of events and remember how each one tended to push us further into our corners: The Vietnam War, Watergate, Newt's Contract on America, the Clinton impeachment, WMD's and the Iraq War, Katrina, Obama and his horrid tan suit, 2016, Hillary, Mueller, impeachments, COVID, 2020 election, January 6th Insurrection, Hunter's laptop, Ukraine.
I honestly think that much like 1992 was a generational shift election where a Vietnam-era draft dodger beat a WWII Navy Pilot, 2028 will give both parties an opportunity to offer up a new young face as their candidate to lead this next generation well into the 21st century. Boomers need to sit down and stand back and we all need to dial down the heated rhetoric for the good of our republic.

Their capacity to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to logical reasoning has been greatly diminished by the vast online poisoned pool of the MSM disinformation industry of political subterfuge their party of tyranny started creating years ago when Google was subverted by politics and which now is in the business of continually validating their false narratives ......
