The Almanac says cold and snowy for most of us!

Get your snow shovel ready - Old Farmer’s Almanac calling for ‘Winter Wonderland’

Image

As you prepare for fall it might be a good idea to also dig out not only your rake but also your snow shovel.

According to the winter weather forecast for 2023-24 released today by the Old Farmer’s Almanac, we will need the shovels early.

“‘The 2024 Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts snow, seasonable cold, and all of winter’s delights! This winter’s forecast is sure to excite snow bunnies and sweater lovers alike, promising a whole lot of cold and snow across North America!”

You have to get that looked at for sure!

We have a small generator that is pretty much only intended to keep our fridge and kitchen functional if the power goes out for an extended period of time. It will run for over 12 hours on a single gallon of gas and I usually keep around 40 gallons in reserve, plus all three cars topped off most of the time too.

With proper generator management, we should be able to keep the fridge and kitchen necessities operational for a month, and we will have eaten empty by that point. Lol

I already had most of a rick of wood beside the garage left from last year, and then had those two stacks delivered yesterday, so we should be good for keeping the nights bearable for a while if we need to.

We're over due an ice storm, which is our biggest concern around here. Snow, I can deal with, but ice sucks.

I got a friend that supplies about half of the local BBQ joints and he hooked me up with straight hickory and oak splits, so i can use it in the smoker too of want too!

He even brought me a 5 gallon bucket of cherry wood chunks specifically for the smoker to boot.

I'm gonna do a couple of Boston Butts for Labor Day weekend as a matter of fact.

Mother nature does not work by Man's calendar. Wet, Dry, Cold or Hot weather cannot be controlled by stupid humans.
